Let me know how much and I'll start selling stuff to pay for it... I've been wishing they would do a 7.62x51 since I got my PE90 :D

I spoke at LENGTH with the CEO of Swiss Arms and the first rifle we will get is a 7.62 x 39 variant...

The 7.62 x 51 version is really only a "immediate post protoype" and as you can see by all the welds and stuff, not nearly ready for a production run...

Besides, it took me over a year to get the shorties and they are not nearly as hard to make as a different calibre gun, when do you think I'd see a completely new version?

Aslong as you bring it in all we can give you is praise along with our money.

we need another non rest military rifle in 762, what better then the already proven design of the sig!

norkies dont really float my boat either :D

I wonder why x39 though, its not exactly known for its accuracy, its a lot of dough for whats pretty much a plinker...

I'll take one when they get here

I thought they built a bunch for the Iraqi's?

Does the x39 version use a propietary mag, or something already available?

It's more a question of rifle than one of ammo; the 7,62x39 round has a very good potential for accuracy in a proper firearm.
I did a lot of chronographing on standard military surplus and some East German and Norinco 7,62x39 lots really surprised me with standard deviations as low as 7 and 10 fps on strings of 10 rounds!
I guess this is one of the reasons why some benchrest shooters developed the .22 and 6mm PPC from that cartridge case.
Nevertheless, I'd be more interested by a .308 SIG in terms of versatility. :)

The 7.62x39 is good round ballisticaly, my worries with it are the steel case, corrosive primers, just a dirtly little bullet all around, I wouldn't want to shoot it through big dollar rifles, unless of course you know of a better source for cleaner ammo I might take an interest in it....It's great stuff for an SKS plinker....(just an opinion) :)

What has caused the 7,62x39 cataloguing as a "cheap, dirty little round" are the same qualities that stick to the rifles firing it: its plebeian communist military surplus origins.
As long as there will be an abundant supply of surplus ammo, the term will stick.
However, I'm pretty sure that anyone buying a high-level machine such as a SIG would be inclined to spend as much in UMC, Winchester or American Eagle 7,62x39 ammo as he would with his .223 or .308 caliber HK or SIG.
Lucky that we, flatpocketed plinkers, still have this cheap, little dirty round for our "fun guns"! :D
