Ok, so I have two SIG Mosquitos and in both I have noticed something interesting. When I use hyper velocity or high velocity ammunition - it feeds and works flawlessly (i.e. Stingers/Velocitors); however when I use standard velocity ammunition, I am experiencing some jammage (sometimes it can be almost every round in the magazine). The two ammunition I used were T22 and Dynapoint (whitebox), the weird thing is that after I fired the complete first mag, the next 4 mags (I have 5 total) will almost always never experience a jam. This only happens with the Dynapoint ammunition whereas with the T22 I will have 1-2 jams in the first mag and the remaining 4 mags will fire flawlessly.
I have a theory: The theory is that as the barrel heats up it is raising the velocity of the 22LR ammunition (making it slightly "hotter") making the pistol more reliable as the pistol requires higher velocities to operate reliably. It supported by the fact that when I reload the 5 mags, it starts all over again (w/Dynapoints) and I have tried a different mag as the lead mag in 5 different sets with the same results. Unfortunately my sample is small, so my question is this - are your mosquitos doing the same thing as the two I have? The reason I want to know is because I believe this will confirm (for me at least) that the jamming problem is completely related to ammunition NOT design/problems with the pistol. This is also supported by the fact that most other Mosquito owners are forced to use the highest front sight made available to when zeroing with their bulk ammunition. I believe Sig designed these pistols for hotter ammunition.
Regardless I am happy with my mosquitos and highly recommend them - having fired thousands of various 22LR rounds through them, the higher "snap" of the stingers really make it worthwhile to buy them and the jamming problem is definitely in my mind an ammunition problem.
