Well it been a while now & I was wondering if anyone has any updates on the Sig mosquito ? are you having problems with it still? Has the factory got the bugs out of them yet?

Thinking of buying one just not sure if it's worth it. I had a Walther P22 & found the trigger to heavy for wife how is it compared to the Sig?.

Man, save time, grief and curse words and get a Ruger! :D

You can try my MKIII 4.5" slab side anytime.

Also look at this beauty:

cool I like the fiber optic sight. Looks like Ruger has come alone way since the mid 90's do you have a pic of your Slab side Ruger? by the way does Selkirk GC have a web site?

From old post:

I had a couple of post about the MKIII that seem to have dropped off the end of the world here; here they are again. :D

Ruger 22/45 MKIII (P45GCMKIII)

=========================================================
First off, this is a small pistol. The frame is WAY thinner than the MKII; Check out the pic of the frames side by side. Overall, I am really liking the feel. Hopefully I will be able to get it out shooting on Sunday.
(Sorry for the blurry pics.. it's late. :b )

============================================================

I took my 22/45 MKIII out to the range today. (for my lunch break! :lol )

I only had time to put about 150 rounds through it. Not one FTF or FTE, quite happy about that. One thing I was concerned about was the fixed sights. Quite happy once again, it seems to be hitting POI at 15-20 yards, windage is correct. Today I was more focused on function (ie shooting things :b ) I did put a few rounds on target though:

Not too shabby.

A dirty muzzle is a happy muzzle.

So far I am very happy with this pistol. :D

==========================================================

I feel I should mention something about the additional "features", like the LCI, internal lock and mag disconnect. I didn't even think about them, and I didn't notice any difference to shooting my MKII. Load the mag, shoot, repeat. The internal lock (you can see a little hole below the safety) you can easily forget about; I won't be using it, opting to use a combonation trigger lock instead. The LCI actually looks kinda neat when it is "engaged." Overall this pistol is very nice, and toight, toight like sha tiger! :lol The mags snap in really nice, and it ejects brass flawlessly so far. You can see that the ejection port is a bit bigger, cut better IMO.

I bought both the Ruger MKIII Hunter and the Mosquito and I would love to tell you how the Mosquito shoots execpt I haven't shot it yet:( . P&D sent me a broken gun (firing pin) and then they told me I would have to deal with FN Sports in Montreal to get it fixed as they don't deal with these problems. Good Customer service eh!:mad: Well FN has had it for 4 months now and they can't even tell me when it will be fixed.:mad: :mad: :mad:

From my perspective I wouldn't recommend a mosquito to anyone nor would I recommend anyone buy a gun from P&D.

The Hunter MKIII is an excellent pistol.:D :D :D but a trigger job is a definate must.

I bought a Sig Mosquito for my wife about a month ago. CCI Mini Mag and Remington Thunderbolt feed 100%. Gun is accurate.

The only problem is that the SA trigger pull is very long. I shoot 1911 pretty well, but I can't shoot the Mosquito with similar grouping.

Get the 22/45...only get it in Stainless, Ive got one, and its basically trouble free. ALthough takedown could be simpler.

Join us.... we have cookies :D

And I second the Ruger, I used to have one and loved it for its great reliability and general cheapness (great bang for the buck) but it was too fugly for me.

Oh, and Armco recently got one in on a trade-in somewhere......

I too have the exact same Ruger that Nine has.
It's great!

I removed the mag safety on it and it now functions just like an MKII (but looks and feels so much better).

:D

We will soon have a MarkIII 2245 club here. I bought this cute little gun a while back and love it. mine is a 4.5" slab barrel. Opps, we should talk about Mosquito. Yes it is a very ###y little gun, I saw one art Leverarm where I bought my 2245.

Yeah the mosquito is great. Oddly enough there are lots for sale with low round counts. This in itself attests to legendary SIG quality (lacking). I would put it in the same category as the Walther P22.

I wouldve bought one if it had a better reputation. As I like SIGs.
