Sig MPX get approved!!!!!

I'm interested once we learn what direction we're actually going to go on the magazines. I know that the RCMP have indicated that the mags are "dual use," an invented category, and are limited to 5 rounds for either the "pistol" or "rifle" version of the MPX, but I'm going to continue to hold my breath. I would really like one. Shame they went with Keymod on the handguard, though - MLOK is where it's at.

Now that USSOCOM has decided to go with the M-Lok, SIG is probably already retooling their production line.

Dual use isn't a category. It is a phrase to describe magazines designed for use in guns of two different classes: rifle vs handgun.

If designed for both, it is limited to the lesser limit.

Designed for both = dual use.

It's a description to explain why, not a legal definition itself. A description of the RCMP opinion on the law currently.

It would be prudent to retain copies of the old bulletin 72 vs the new one to highlight the change in opinion... as it is difficult to maintain one's expert status when one continually contradicts oneself.

Oh, I understand that it's an interpretation, or reinterpretation. I understand the subtle movements in the RCMP to eventually challenge all our magazine "exemptions," through removing the specific examples in the new Bulletin 72. I'm just upset that we're acquiescing and limiting the MPX magazines based on an opinion piece from the RCMP - this is understandable though, of course, as no one wants to be in possession of a prohibited device when they arrest the first unfortunate citizen with nonconforming magazines in their possession.

So I have to order this thru IRG ?

If you want it quicker (May) via "unauthorized" channels (also slightly more expensive due to our dollar sucking hind nut)...or via Wolverine (slower...June/July...and slightly cheaper)...

Might want to go Wolverine if the CZ Scorpion EVO S3 is also getting approved...they've hinted at that...get both together...I myself ordered from IRG (prior to hearing about Wolverine...but I wanted it faster) but will order an EVO if it gets approved.

Thats where I ordered it from.

Don't know how it can be more expensive even with the exchange.

Mine came to 2900$ for mpx + stock + 4x spare mags

Others are charging $2500 + tax + shipping without any spare mags and I'm more then positive mags here will be around 100$

$3k....sweet setup though. If you can get a fake can for it to finish the look.
but that $$ hurts. You can get a pretty nice AR for that.
That EVO S3 looks sweet too.

The MPX is basically a scaled down MCX. The guts are essentially the same thing. Everything is aluminum forging and steel. So no wonder the price is not much different from the MCX.

Considering how much HK wants for their MP5, those same clients will have no issue for the money if it works as good. Since it is a gas gun, may work better with suppressors.

For all budget minded places, they will be buying plastic blow back guns like UMP or EVO.

I had some interest in the MPX... until you guys reminded me this might have 5 round magazines.

No thanks, not paying 2500$+ for something I can't even rapid fire at the range.

The Famae SAF was the closest thing to a MP5, and those don't sell mainly because of 5 round mags.

Don't expect these to sell once the initial boner is gone.

The FAMAE SAF, in all honesty, is just an OK gun. It was great 15 years ago when it was the only game in town.

The MPX is a much better gun. You cannot really compare all the blow back gun out there with a gas gun. If 10 rounder is the prerequisite, the best game is still the Colt 9mm system, or if you like, using a Glock lower.

With the way that HK is retreating from "non Western European " military/LE market, the SIG stuff is going to be more common down the road.

They don't sell because they are overpriced junk. The saf was one of the crappiest guns I have ever owned, poor finish and the mags are garbage, they will break and near impossible to replace.
Given the availability of cheap mags and the fact that the evo costs about half of what a saf sells for I think they will have no problem with resale.
