Seals? i was sure some of the SOF carry M11 kinda like a 226 just shorter...lol yes i know is the 228.
But 226s?
WOW back to google i go....lol
Just checked the SIG site
The railed P226 chambered in 9mm and engraved with an anchor on the left side of the slide is the official sidearm of the SEALs.

Its all a marketing gimmick. Its a basic 226 with tacky emblems and an increased price tag.

Yes...but consider.
I was looking for a basic P226, in 9mm, with night sights and a rail, and the regular grips instead of the weird one-piece. I found the MK25 and looked into it. What I got was all the features I was looking for, plus an extra mag, plus that ultra-tough corrosion resistant finish, plus the anchor. OK that's a gimmick, but I'm in the Navy and that is kind of neat.
For an extra $100, I got everything I was looking for and more. Well worth it IMHO.
When I got my mk25, it only had 2 mags and the certificate that came with the gun was blank. I called sig and gave them my serial number and learned two things:
1) the mk25 comes with 3 mags (as I had thought) but due to a mag shortage, only two were shipped with mine and there was a voucher for a free third mag. My box didn't include this voucher and sig was glad to send me that third mag until they learned that I was in Canada. They can't ship directly to us. I received this info in writing at my request and forwarded it to my retailer who forwarded it to the distributer. I was then shipped that mag. (I was disappointed that somehow the voucher wasn't included and that somewhere in the line somebody had taken it - I believe it was the distributer. I speculate that they were doing this to sell the third mag separately to retailers for profit, but I can't prove that. I only know that sig said that the distributer should have received my box and it included that voucher. I trust that the retailer didn't remove it).
2) sig wasn't surprised that my certificate of authenticity was blank, they were surprised that I received one in the first place. Apparently they were ceasing the practice of shipping the mk25 with the certificate.
As for the lack of an anchor, my personal belief is that somebody switched it and you got stuck with a non-mk25 slide. Call sig and confirm this. If this is true, I would raise heck with the seller.
