Just noticed P229's with extended 106mm barrels arrived at P&D today. They received both Equinoxes and SAS models as well as standard black nitron finishes. All in .40 cal and some with rails too! Also some with DAK triggers.

As close as you can get to the prohib pistol without actually being 12(6)! They're pretty sweet little guns. I gotta put one aside for sure. Just letting everyone know! We gotta gobble up these guns before someone does something stupid with them......

Prices were around $1150 for the standard black nitron. I would expect a few bucks more for an SAS or Equinox.

The P229 was designed as a slightly more compact, CCW-friendly version of the P226. With an extended barrel, it is sort of pointless.

Well you already cant carry so, get it anyway! Besides, if you bought all your guns on how PRACTICAL they were, you wouldn't own much here in Canada. So you might as well get something that is fun.

Yeah, the barrels were all straight from SIG, and not threaded. Good question, glad I asked them at the time. EDIT: I think 9mm's are coming, but not 100% on that. EDIT:

It's not pointless...the extended barrel allows us to own something we would not normally be allowed to.

older P226 slides were stamped...new P226 and P229 slides are machined

That's what I understood also, but looking at their site, it seems that only the 229 is getting the machined slide.
