SIG P320 Flux Rifle

Can we get this as a restricted rifle?? Looks like SIG USA is selling it as a complete rifle with stock as an item in the legion line.

If it has pistol markings, which it most likely has, then it will be classified as a handgun in Canada. I know this because I tried to convert an MPX to NR many years back and was given this explanation straight from the boys in the lab. Even if handguns were still allowed, you wouldn’t be able to give this NR status.

no matter how you dress it up it’s a p320 at heart and never making it up here under the current freeze

Love the look of this Handgun Rifle SBR it has the similar looks to the Strike industries modular chassis, Alpha, for the Sig Sauer P320 just some different tweaks to the chassis. Sadly this will never be a NR and that's fine with me. The 30rnd mags pinned at 10 sucks, too bad so were limited to ammunition capacity here in Canada. The ability to quicky swap the magazine in this configuration is a game changer. The user now is able to apply this new skill of magazine swap ability in a combat scenario as nothing like this is currently on the market today. Additionally, utilizing this feature along with buttstock extension makes this assembly very unique in a stabilized combat environment. The FCU of the P320 or anything like it makes all new firearm configurations possible in the future as this would be the heart of every gun design. Using the FCU design gives you more gun configuration possibilities something that dynamically changes the future firearm market.

Currently, this current govt that is in power must be removed from power for CDNS to have even the remote possibility of having this amazing platform. So if you were one of the fortunate few people who managed to have scooped up a couple of the serialized FCU before the ban then this assembly is possible today under this ban. Hopefully Bill C-21 and the OIC of May 2020 in the near future will be stricken out and replaced with some common sense firearms regulations under the Conservatives.

I will bet that there are already some of these in country, just not in civilian hands. Grey Fox Strategic has holsters for it available on the website.

Yes because you can buy the frame/ chassis but Sig is selling complete RIFLES which is what people are hot and horny over

Not exactly. There's other pistol chassis (I know this isn't a chassis but it fits the same niche IMO) like the micro Roni and CAA MCK that have a forward mounted 2nd magazine just like this p320 does.

Technically if the gun was imported as a rifle, the FCU would always be considered a rifle, so even if you would put that FCU in a regular p320 grip module it would still be a rifle. A restricted rifle but still a rifle. You wouldn't even have to notify the CFO since you would not even be changing the barrel lenght.

Not necessarily.
I was one of the first people here to get IRG to import the "pistol" version of the CZ Bren 2. Most people here thought it couldn't be done because the US said it was a pistol. What mattered was only what the RCMP Lab says the status of the firearm is which in my case was classified as "Commercial Version". Import with stock, slap a non-res barrel, send off Form 5547e and poof. Non res.

I’ve enjoyed my raider so far; it’s a fun way to dress up a p320

Importing the whole thing as a rifle would be the only way; cross your fingers fellas

This feels much closer to something like the Rossi and Alfa Proj carbines though - those are both handguns in Canada even though they have shoulder stocks and longer barrels, because they use the same frame as other Rossi and Alfa Proj handguns. Swap the stock to regular pistol grips and you have a long barreled revolver.

The revolver carbines that we do get - Rough Rider Rancher carbine and Taylor and Co. cattleman carbine - don't use the same frame as their handgun counterparts. You cannot simply remove the stock and slap on some revolver grips, because the part of the frame those grips screw to on the revolver isn't there on the carbine.

This is one instance where I really hope I'm proven wrong though!
