STI Trojan, tuned at ARMCO
A lot of the rest are OK but seriously need better internals to be in the running. Kimbers, for instance are OK but why do they come with $18 hammers, triggers, and sears? Obviously spent so much on advertising they had to go to the lowest biddersThe new Remington is better cosmetically than a WW2 1911A1, but in tightness, trigger pull etc, not so! We see a lot of the SIG's etc. through here for tuning and they do need it
My 3 cents worth.

Well Thanks folks I found the one I wanted
Sig Sauer 1911 Target Stainless Pistol
1050$ at cabelas...
I read a bunch of reviews and they seem great...
I have a PARA that I've had no problems with once I replaced the s**tty plastic magazine parts with aluminum blocks.
I also have a Dan Wesson that I'd take over any of the entry level STI's any day. The fit and finish is incredible. I've got a .45 in the vbob in commander length.
Great choice - I have one! Awesome pistol. I got a Blade-Tech holster for it no problem. Enjoy!!![]()
What model #
Para makes Norc QC look competent - you got a good one, that's not necessarily so for the guy who bought the one built after yours. Given a choice between an $1,100 Para and a $500 Armco Norc, I know what I'm buying and I'll have tons of ammo to go with it. As far as the DW goes, they're now in the $2,000 to $2500 price range (except for the one Razor Back left at ArmsEast - someone needs to do me a favour and buy that, it's waaaaay too tempting at that price) so comparing it to an $1100 STI is a little irrelevant.
As far as holsters go, Raven advises their holsters don't work with Sig 1911's, but take a look at Armordillo Concealment, they make a very similar holster specifically for Sig 1911's and they're apparently much quicker (and cheaper) - they get great reviews on local US boards.
The two I would look at in that range are the Colt Rail Gun and the S&W E series.
Where can I find me one of these? Preferably that beautiful scandium bobtail.
