Sig Sauer 1911 stainless Target ( Range report March 10th )

STI Trojan, tuned at ARMCO :)

A lot of the rest are OK but seriously need better internals to be in the running. Kimbers, for instance are OK but why do they come with $18 hammers, triggers, and sears? Obviously spent so much on advertising they had to go to the lowest bidders :) The new Remington is better cosmetically than a WW2 1911A1, but in tightness, trigger pull etc, not so! We see a lot of the SIG's etc. through here for tuning and they do need it :)

My 3 cents worth.

Gunnar

What is you take on the internals in the Trojan?

I have a PARA that I've had no problems with once I replaced the ####ty plastic magazine parts with aluminum blocks.

I also have a Dan Wesson that I'd take over any of the entry level STI's any day. The fit and finish is incredible. I've got a .45 in the vbob in commander length.

Para makes Norc QC look competent - you got a good one, that's not necessarily so for the guy who bought the one built after yours. Given a choice between an $1,100 Para and a $500 Armco Norc, I know what I'm buying and I'll have tons of ammo to go with it. As far as the DW goes, they're now in the $2,000 to $2500 price range (except for the one Razor Back left at ArmsEast - someone needs to do me a favour and buy that, it's waaaaay too tempting at that price) so comparing it to an $1100 STI is a little irrelevant.

As far as holsters go, Raven advises their holsters don't work with Sig 1911's, but take a look at Armordillo Concealment, they make a very similar holster specifically for Sig 1911's and they're apparently much quicker (and cheaper) - they get great reviews on local US boards.

I've heard a lot of crap about the para's. I just like to say I got one that's given me no trouble. Bent mag lips are the biggest ##### I hear about when it comes to 1911's failing to feed.

I paid about the same price for my Dan Wesson as I did for my Para. If I'd bought the Dan Wesson first, i would have sent the para back, saved my month and bought a $2k STI

I also bought my DW just before the change over that drove their prices up 100%. If you can find a used one in the market, I'd buy it.

I missed one on EE a few weeks back... It went quick....

Ha well... My sig should be here next week... Just got my Tracking # from Cabelas....

The two I would look at in that range are the Colt Rail Gun and the S&W E series.

Where can I find me one of these? Preferably that beautiful scandium bobtail.

i shot a sig 1911 that was a .22. ill be honest with you i really enjoyed shooting it. im not a big fan of .22's i enjoy a bit of recoil when i shoot. the 1911 was a nice feeling gun, shot well, shot very tight groups with cheap ammo even and id even consider buying one. it just had a great feeling in my hands, but you get what you pay for

Well got her in today... why the fvck didnt I buy this thing b4 my Para and save myself the headace...
