Has anyone seen or had their mitts on the new "Enhanced Ergonomics" E2 P229 and P226? Are they available in Canada yet? Any thoughts or opinions if you have held them? Do they feel similar to each other?

I've got the same issue...P&D in Edm apparently has a couple on order, hope they still have them the next time I'm down.

If it works out, please let me know what you think. I called Sig earlier in the States, he couldn't give me info if they were available in Canada yet. But he did tell me the mags from the existing 229 will not fit the 229E2, but the 226 mags will fit the 226E2.

I handled a 226E2 today. Nice pistol.

I own two 226's right now, an ST stainless, and a classic non-rail.

The E2 is quite nice. Short trigger, short reset, and slightly slimmer waisted grip.

I'd get one for the SRT alone.

no...i would realy like the 229 but american version....i don't like the extended barrel!
the only complaint that a have about my sig is the polymer spring guide rod!!!! i din't find a place in canada who sale the old factory steel rod!!!

Just got some 411 from Questar:
Thank you very much for your inquiry with Questar International.

We are not yet advertising the 229-E2 models yet as SIG has not given us a
delivery time for them. In their current configuration the barrel is to
short for Canada, meaning we will need to add a 106mm barrel to the gun.
This will likely put the price in the $1,350 to $1,450 range.

Hope this helps

I've always been very happy with their service, and they do currently have the 226E2 in stock.

I know we already talked about it ... but for me, the P226 E2 was not as comfortable as the standard P226.

I held both in my hands the other day, comparing them side-by-side at Target Sports Canada.

Joe from Target confirmed that they ship with 3 mags in Canada (I wasn't sure if it was just in the USA), and their pricing in-store is cheaper than Questar online!

I've read a lot about the SRT trigger and it's supposed to be worth the money, so if you like the feel of the regular P226 you can buy the E2 for ~ $150 more and get night sights, 3 factory mags, SRT, and the ability to run standard Sig grips which you can buy online for cheap.

All of the E2's we've shipped to date were shipped with 3 magazines (factory hi-cap magazines that were "capped" to 10 rounds for Canadian import).

The 229 E2's have not yet started shipping from SIG but we have them on order and will get them as soon as SIG starts shipping that model.

We still have the 226 E2's in stock (both 9mm and 40S&W) and we have another shipment arriving in a week or two.

My P226 E^2 (It's actually E squared not E2, Enhanced Ergonomics) just started it's transfer process with the CFO.

Ordered from CanadaAmmo, came to $1,228.49 shipped, taxes included.

The standard grips fit the E^2 as posted above, great value over the regular P226, the ONLY thing that is missing to make it perfect is the phosphating that comes on the combat and navy models. No beavertail for me thanks.

that's a great deal! I agree E2 has lots to offer for the price, and I also could care less about beavertail :redface:. Got mine from Questar;

I am another tosser between 226 & 229, and the grip on regular 226 I found to be on bulky side thus my preference for 229. The 226 E2 however has been really pleasant to shoot with, almost as if the grip is magnetic that my palm sticks to it.
