Sig SP2022 9mm

Congrats. My coworker picked one up. I was tempted to grab one as well but just bad timing with $$. Indeed, that FDE version looks cool. I have an airsoft version, does that count? lol

I did notice an airsoft version when I was searching for the SP2022 to be in stock anywhere in Canada... I highly recommend the 2022 to anyone looking for a budget friendly 9mm pistol. By the way, extra mags are available at Brownells, $44.99.

Just about every cop in France has one of those (one of the largest pistol orders in history) - but they're still the Rodney Dangerfield of pistols. If you're looking for one, ask your local gun dealer to order one, I'm sure MD Charlton would be happy to send one.

I had to think about that one for a minute... Yes, I guess they don't get the respect they deserve.

Anyone who has had their 2022 9mm pistol for a while, have you tried using 40 S&W mags for extra legal capacity? This works in a P226, just wondering if the SP2022 was the same.

The thing that amazes me the most is that the Sig Pros actually have better ergonomics than the 226/229 (at least for my hands) they have equal accuracy and terrific reliability, and they're cheaper. I'm sure Sig would prefer more people saw the advantages of these guns, because despite the retail price difference, they probably still a lot more profitable for them as a maker.

I would disagree as a $1000 226 or 229 would most likely make them a lot more money than a polymer pistol at half the price. The new polymer P320 on the other hand at $712 @ SFRC, I think that's getting into metal frame pistol profit % but is the similar price as most polymer service pistols.

It does seem that this model isn't talked about much, but definitely doesn't speak to it's awesomeness. No bad reviews out there for them. Here's a model ready for CDN import: SP2022 w/Threaded Barrel and Night Sights, I see it for sale at $529 US online.

That pistol in FDE is what I want. I've got money but nobody can get the pistol....yet....

There is a factory Threaded Barrel that could be thrown in... I don't see the problem in bringing these FDE bad boys in. IRG has the FDE 2022 in stock - it's just the problem (and cost) of acquiring the threaded barrels to install them.

Irunguns has several FDE models in stock:

I have put 100 rounds through my 2022. I really like it. It has a better feel than the 225s I have been using. For my first 14 rounds, I had three FTEs (two were stovepipes, one was trapped parallel to the chambering round), #5 #8 and 14. Since then, not a single issue. Using Remington UMC and American Eagle. The first two FTEs were with the AEs and the third was with the UMCs
I'm still trying to get another mag though. That's a pain.

Mine was perfect right out of the box. Brownells has mags for $40.99 each. US money has gone up but nobody has brought in any magazines. Even if they come in, I doubt they'll be under $60 CDN.

Wow, thanks. Finally got someone to answer this after a couple months of asking. That's good news.

How you liking your Sig Pro SP2022?

It is my Go-to pistol. Never let me down, even tho it’s well used. Picked it up used, with 4-.40 mags and a case,4 years ago. Best $500 I’ve ever spent.

That still makes it $52.10 Cdn, If I add shipping, it may as well be $60. I just bought a CZ 10rd mag and it was $60, local purchase. Argh!!!

I had looked around a bit last month and found similar prices almost everywhere. Even a few places that refused to ship to Canada.

Thx for the info though. Hard to believe something this generic is still out of supply in Canada.

Nothing generic about it. Not many of these pistols were sold here and there are no mags available in Canada. They are $41-45 US everywhere and that's the way it is. It's not like Mec-Gar P226 mags that can be had for $23 in the US, these ones are expensive.

If you bought CZ75 mags, Marstar got some Mec-Gar's in for $35.

I was speaking in terms of "generic" as being; it is a common enough hand gun. If it is being sold in Canada, and given the fact that not many people are happy with just 1 mag, there should have been forethought, and a supply chain, to provide customers with related equipment. I am doing my best to NOT deal with the US and give my cash to Cdn suppliers, more so with current dollar conversions. As it has been pointed out throughout CGN, Not all Cdn suppliers have what we want all the time+. This seems to be one of those things.
My CZ mag was for my CZ455. I forgot specifics.
