Sig vs CZ

I'm looking at buying a 9mm pistol. The two I'm looking at are the CZ 75 Shadow Line and the Sig Sauer P226R Tacops. I'm looking at competitive shooting with one of these. Let's hear some opinions on both to help me make my decision.

Edit: I'm also looking at the STI Duty One 5.0 1911 in 9mm. But I'm really leaning towards the two above.
 
Sorry, I should have qualified that. I'm not really sure right now. Maybe I should not say "competitive" shooting. Just target accuracy.

Most pistols are already accurate! If we're talking about ease for attaining this accuracy, the shadow wins hands down based on my personal experience. To master target shooting, you'll first need to find what fits you the best and not make any rash decisions before you've tried them all.

Why the shadow is better:

- Built ground up from the SP01 platform for competition purposes
- Lower Bore Axis (This means the barrel sits closer to your arm so there's less perceived muzzle flip)
- Shorter Reset (The distance at which the trigger bar has to travel before it resets for the next go! Even with the Sig SRT (Short Reset Trigger), the shadow reset is shorter)
- Smaller Grip Size (Based on my personal experience, the smaller grip size on the shadow fits better for more shooters. The better grip you have on the pistol, the better you will be to reset for follow up shots/double taps etc)
- Replacement parts are plentiful (I'm not saying Sig isn't but CZ parts seem to always be in stock)
 
The Sig would have to have srt trigger. But they are both fine firearms. That's a really tough decision...

I would choose CZ in the end though. Although it doesn't carry the Sig Sauer name it is a fantastic firearm like for the reasons stated above.
 
Both pistols are capable of great accuracy and it's the shooter who is th problem - find the one that you can operate easiest.
In my experience the CZ is easier to achieve accuracy with because it fits my hands better. I have small hands. If you do as well, the fat grips on the Sig will work, but the CZ will feel like a glove. My friends who have shot both also prefer the CZ.

The price difference, if it matters, is also in favour of the CZ.

Sigs are nice guns, but I'd sell a 226 before my 75. This forum is fairly heavily pro-CZ though so it might be a good idea to go to a sigarms forum and ask them, they should give you a good rundown of why they enjoy Sig more than anything else.
 
I like my Sig for no external safety and a decocker. But I started with Sig and (I've been told) don't know any better. Ultimately you should try both and see what fits better.
 
Which one makes you happy is the one to get. I'd go with the CZ any day and I've got 5 of them already.

I love my STI 1911's. Great out of the box accuracy and reliable. Plenty of aftermarket upgrade options if you feel you need them.
 
Both have pros and cons but great guns non the less. Asking which one to buy is like asking which girl to marry you need to try out both for yourself and make up your own mind.

Here are some facts:
Cz has a smaller grip.
Sig overall has a nicer fit and finish.
Cz has a lower bore axis and has less muzzle flip esp shadow and sp01 models but they are quite heavy for a 9mm.
Regular 75B and P226 are very close in weight. But one has a steel frame (cz) other is aluminum.
 
CZ for parts availability and reliability.they're far more easy to modify. as for intrinseque accuracy,you can't go wrong with a shadow. this model as well as the tactical sport are specifically designed for target and comp shooting. on top of that nearly no aftermarket for sigs,and not particulary easy to modify or work with unless you can ship it to grey guns.
