Sig Vs Glock

I have not tried Sig's but I have tried a variety of different guns and I like the Glock for the very low bore axis, very fast for double taps. But it is not a miracle gun, like any one practice makes perfect. I also love my Browning HP (Pratical) because it's a damn ###y gun ;) , but the Glock is more of a tool in my mind cause I can abuse it without fealing too bad about it :p

The Sig has a very nice balance to it, that seems to be lacking in the Glock. Both are word class pistols. Both are slightly better at different things and both have some drawbacks. I think any serious collection should have both in them.

I used to idolize the sig, but i recently picked up a g17 and a usp9 and its been sitting in the safe ever since. The sig has by far the best factory trigger, its light and crisp. The glock factory trigger is the most rediculous pos I've ever seen on a pistol (aside from p99) I really dont understand the saftey thing in the middle of it either. I recently picked up a 3.5# disconnector and the gun is worlds better.

Im really starting to like the glock, maybe even more then the sig. The bore axis is noteably lower then the sig or hk which is better for accuracy as well. Along with the factory trigger my only problem with the glock is that they must pop the frames out of the mold too quickly or something because the frame barely lines up with the slide. when looking at it from a side view there is no point where the slide and frame run parallel!

In any case, I find the glock very comfortable in the hand but I found the sig to be slightly more so. I used to thing the sig was prettier but the glock is cleaner looking and Im starting to prefer it! If only they made it with a proper trigger!

I have both pistols. I find that the glock is best for beginner/novice level because of its consistent trigger and ease of shooting and the Sig is more appreciated by someone with more experience because it has the da/sa trigger and its traditional design. I like both guns;both are accurate they can both take a beating they are reliable etc. The glock has the edge for ease of use/disassembly and the number of mods and the simplicity of its design. THe Sig feels nice in the hands and I believe it has the better potential for accuracy because of its SA trigger but it requires more practice to master than the glock.

Sig all the way! Owned both can't shoot the Glock well. But with that being said, shoot both and see which one fits your hands better.

I'm extremely happy with my Sig. My friend has a Glock, so I had the chance to try it out first. I don't like the balance on the Glock (same for the Springfield XD)-- the Sig feels very centered, while the Glock wants to tip over.

The grip on the Sig is really comfortable. The plastic Glock just doesn't do it for me.

I really don't want to start a huge fight, But between the two pistols which one would you fella's say is the best. I do own a glock 17 and I'm really thinking of a Sig in 9mm (226)
Thanks (Oversea's)

Most Glock users who buy a Sig end up selling the Sig. The ergos are different and the Glock users tell me that they cannot shoot the Sig.

Likewise, the opposite is true for Sig users buying a Glock.

They are both fine firearms. Choose the one that best fits your hand and shooting style. You cannot go wrong with either.

BTW, I am a Sig fan.

Say that the race guns are like Omegas, Cartiers, Rolexs and so on of the firearms world.

A typical Sig Sauer pistol is like a swiss army or say swatch. Glocks are like very nice Timexs, Casios, and etc. Particular in the case of the latter two, both categories will tell the time and do so reliably. Sig tends to have a slightly 'higher' name but it by no means Glocks don't perform.

I love Sigs, but I have to respect Glocks.

Done both. prefer the glock. easy to strip, parts easily replaceable. dont' need to deal with manual safeties.
The sig feels more "substantial" to me, but in the end the glock stayed.

Glocks and Sigs are both good for their own reasons. Both are very accurate and are damn near 100% reliable. Sigs have a very nice balance and fit the hand quite nicely, they also recoil very smoothly. Sigs also have a very nice DA/SA trigger and have a very nice fit and finish. Glocks are lighter, have a lower bore, and have the same trigger pull every time, and you can take the entire gun apart with a single tool. Another big bonus of the Glock is that a good portion of it is plastic, plastic doesn't rust, and the finish on the slide is supposed to be pretty slick too. Exposed to the elements the Glock will definately outlast a Sig. Sig and Glock are definately a couple of the finest pistols in productions today. In the end, make an informed purchase based on what features are the most important to you.

I don't understand how some people here are using Glock's ease of takedown as an advantage; it's SUPER easy to take down a Sig!
My next pistol, hopefully, will be a Glock 17, just 'cause I always wanted a Glock.

I solved this question by buying both... I have a Sif P226R in 9mm and a Glock 21 in .45 ACP. I must admit that I'm leaning towards the Sig :)

I onw a SIG and am very happy with it. I shot a borrowed Glock at a recent match and did reasonably well with it, given that I haven't shot one in a long time and didn't get to practice with it before the match.

One downside that I noted with respect to the plastic bits, is that it seems to be quite easy for the plastic mags in the Glock to get sticky and not drop out cleanly. I have never had this problem with my steel SIG mags with just the plastic bit at the bottom.

Just my two cents.

oh man...what to buy?!? I can't get both but need a 9mm in my humble collection.

Well if money is really tight, the Norinco NZ-85B or one of their 9mm 1911 platforms will give a good shooter in 9mm. I find that most used Glocks seem to be in .40cal and less used 9mm Glocks kicking around. The CPO Sigs are also a good deal.

I feel your pain, the TORK in 9mm is the cheapest way to get a 9mm.
