I have the regular (non-target) model S&W 622. I bought it as a plinker but it shoots so well that I'd put an adjustable rear sight on and use it for more serious target shooting - if I could find a rear sight. Where can I get an adjustable rear sight for it? Midway has one listed but not in stock and we can't order from them anyway. Brownell's has nothing.

Anyone got some ideas where to look for a rear adj sight or a set?

The adjustable sight on my own 622 look suspiciously like the sights from the revolvers with adjustable sights. So there SHOULD be a rather long recess in the top of the slide on your version to accept the 2inch long spring tongue similar to a revolver sight. If that's not there then you really can't just buy a S&W sight.

That recess isn't there on the non-target model 622. There are aftermarket adj rear sights that were made for the non-target M622, I just can't locate any.

If you simply cannot find anything that fits there's always the consideration that even a fixed sight is adjustable with the right tools. Looking at the images I see that the rear sight is in a dovetail. So it is windage adjustable with a brass punch and a hammer. Or a somewhat more fancy sight pusher tool could be used.

For elevation it's more of a one way trip based on starting with a taller than required sight and using a file to trim it down. But I'm going to go out on a limb and say that likely the height is fine but you're after a touch of windage change. And that's where a pusher or punch and hammer comes in along with something to rest the slide against so the shock doesn't go through into the gun itself.

here is a pic of my 422 and my 622, are your rear sites different than these ones?
if so can you post a pic of them?

i didnt know there was a non adjustable version of the 422/622
i just went and looked online and saw a few of the ones i think your talking about.
looks like they are just dovetailed in there, yes?

if so i also saw some S&W model 41 looking sites on them.
maybe look and see if those are the same, they might be what your looking for.

see if i can steal a pic from google here for ya.

The M41 dovetail looks wider, not sure it would fit in the 622 dovetail. The 622 aftermarket sights I've found online didn't mention interchangeability with M41.
