First, sighting in at 100 yds, sandbag rested front and rear: Vortex Viper 6.5-20X44 PA, NATO surplus 147gr. (headstamp HO, for anyone who can tell me where it came from) :
then at 300yds: there's a nice group near the centre that I got before the tighter group lower left (1,2,4). Pay no attention (to that man behind the screen?) to 3 and 5, they just plain got away from me. The other ones in the white were early shots, just bringing it onto the paper and settling in-
Here's my rig (Grunig .308), and the reticle (Dead Hold BDC)-
Next time, I'll use better ammo, but surplus was fine for early sighting in purposes. Still needs work, getting there, but overall in both pics I can see the need to bring it right a click or two. I'm reasonably content for my second day with this scope.
