Silly hypothetical question that has probably been asked 100 times

I would immediately phone Mayor Mc Cheese in Toronto and ask him to try harder to get the bad guys guns banned!!!!! Then I would be safe (please note extreme sarcasim).

If you found yourself in an urban firefight with armed drug dealers,

I would curl into a ball, call 911 and while my protectors (police) are on their way, I would be co-operating with armed drug dealers and plead for my life.

:D

Well BB, everyone knows that you can't defeat a horde of armed drug dealers with either some girly man Austrian pistol or a baby 357 magnum. You have to move up to a John Moses Browning 45 to be able to defend you and your loved ones from the ravenous commie drug induced NDP voting liberal hordes. Nothing else will do, sorry. Oh, and if you can't hit anything with a revolver, let someone try it who knows how to shoot, maybe it's the gun. If not, practice (get some of those cool armed drug dealing horde targets, they're the best), practice, practice. And stop watching Stallone movies, they kill brain cells. - dan

Dear God, why won't the mods lock this retarded moronic idiotic thread.

It hasn't quite degenerated to that level just yet.

I would choose a full sized auto. Glock or M&P. Probably in .45. Crimson trace grips and a tac light (scoff all you want, but they work just great in low light) Loaded with JHP or similar ammunition. The XD would be a good candidate as well, but I don't like the ergos on it. Doesn't fit my hand.

While I know that larger cartridges (10mm, .357mag, .44mag) offer better performance against barriers like car doors, I haven't personally put enough rounds of those downrange to feel confident with them when SHTF. If I knew that my skills were up to it, I'd grab a Glock 20.

Its not a moronic thread. Happens all the time out here in small town Saskatchewan. Just the other night I was happily watching #### and eating cheezies and the local drug lords started a firefight outside my house. I opened the window, told them they had 1 minute to finish up then I was going to come outside and #### them up. 1 minute later they were still shooting so I grabbed my GB and 37 rounds later it was all quiet except for the thrum of the Caterpillar backhoe's engine and hydraulics as we buried the evidence. Cleaned the sticky orange residue off the Steyr and was back in business in front of the TV.

The previous was totally made up, not true, never happened ect. ect. ect...:D

THANK YOU!

It's interesting how many of us would choose a Glock or M&P and not a 1911 or .44 mag wheel gun in a combat situation.

Wording my original question involving "drug dealers" was really stupid and probably the reason , for the most part, people choose to mock the living $hit out of me instead of engage in a potentially interesting conversation. Oh well, live and learn.

This is an entertaining thread and I totally LOVE'd the mall ninja article... From my time on here I knew they were mall security types that take themselves too seriously, but never did I imagine there was such a stellar example out there. LMAO

... what handgun, that you currently own would you want to have?

I consider this question seriously from time to time. So far, I've been able to eliminate the flintlock. :D I'd also skip both Mauser broomhandles and the Luger (untrustworthy), the 1917 Smith & Wesson .455 (uncomfortable), the cap-and-ball .44 (unreloadable), and (reluctantly) the .22 LR.

I would use the Webley .455, S&W .357, Walther P38, or Tokarev 7.62x25 without hesitation in a pinch but, given time, I would have to pick either the Steyr .40, The BUL Cherokee 9mm, the Norc NZ85 9mm, or the H&K P7 PSP. The last, being smaller and more concealable than any other, would be most likely to be with me if concealed carry ever becomes legal here.

I think you picked the wrong gun, if you want to fight drug dealers, use an assault rifle. You need as much firepower as you can get.

The kids choose Glocks and M&Ps, grownups use 1911s and 44 mags. Get used to being mocked for threads like this, we find them funny. - dan
