what a nice backup rifle when fitted with a full size stock

Just couldn't stand this any longer.

Ordered one in 300 Win Mag a few minutes ago. $348 total, delivered to my door in Whitehorse.

This price is ridiculous, and you know it's going to shoot! :)

The funny part is Ted, it will likely be one of the most accurate rifles you own.

They're great guns, and for the price, its allmost a no brainer...

I have the Stevens 200 in 300 win mag with a bushnell 3200 3x9x40 elite scope on it and with federal 180 gr ammo it shoots a 1 inch group at 100 yards. But it is a very light rifle and the recoil is strong enuff that it is not fun to shoot at the range like my 308 win was. Not a problem when out hunting as i wouldnt be doing alot of shooting with it.
My trigger is also very heavy and needs a tune up,nice and crisp but just too hard and i am thinking of adding some weight to the stock to tame the recoil down. It was still a good deal for a basic hunting rifle.

Ted from what I have heard about these rifles you will be pleasantly surprised... at both the quality and the accuracy... 8)

RED you are not tempted to get one now are you ? I mean only to use as anchor or tomato stake of course. :D
Those damn Savages, I love 'em!

Try getting your hands on a .223 version... I ordered one in mid August and have been told three separate backorder dates. I finally got tired of the waiting and ordered a single shot H&R with the bull barrel for the same price... I still think that I'll order one of the stevens in.300 for hunting though but only if they are actually in stock.

Lady told me that they had more than a hundred in 300 Win mag when I ordered mine yesterday.

I just got my 223 Savage off CGN.

Dizzy Dan 1,

You can get them in 7-08. Just not from SIR. I had mine ordered in from the local gun shop. Check with a shop that sells savage and see if they can get you one.

It was and I did. 22-250 an 7-08 I had the 22-250 first and thought it was such a great buy and performer that buying another one was the natural choice.
