SKS 18.6" barrel chop, worth it?

If patient you could always get the Norinco sks MC-5D with a 18.5” from factory. There is one or 2 for sale on the E&E.

Mine is chopped. Re worked the front sight and pinned it back on. Very pleased with the results; handles and balances better. The crown I put on it is better then it came from the factory as well. Doesn’t seem to shoot any better; though that wasn’t a reason for me chopping it down to begin with anyways.

What would the thoughts of the collective be on a chop/choate stock/tech sights combo? Aperture sights suit my eyes much better than open sights....

And I don't see any need for an NR X39 bush-busting carbine to be all tacticool....

Only collectors if any would be a factory chop to 18.5" like the SKS MC-5D or the very few in Canada paratrooper ish regular SKS with Bayonet that came with a 18.5" barrel. (Marstar or Lever Arms brought these years back).
