Same for the cleaning kit. And really, if you're taking the rifle apart to clean it, you should be taking it out of the stock anyway.
good points on the bayonet, you're right, but I have to disagree with this one, cause it's still nice to have the cleaning kit in the stock somewhere...regardless if you take it out of the stock or not...if I fire non corrosive, I field strip and just clean the moving bits and the chamber and bore and give the receiver a good wipe down...I don't take it out of the stock, though that AK inspired bump behind the receiver cover may interfere with brushing the chamber. corrosive ammo on the other hand, I give all metal parts a hot bath
it is a nice stock, but I couldn't bring myself to hacking the lug off, even though my 54 izzy is a refurb. if I did get the stock, I would have to leave it on...
