Sks Canadian tire debacle and a memo from a few years back

No, let's not get the tinfoil hats out yet, just a corporate decision! Lots of anti's shop at CTC and I have even had the experience twice, when the lady beside me at checkout realized I was buying two rifles!!! She was mad and scared! So if a few of those called in or wrote in after the Vegas incident! The chickens with their heads cut off at corporate headquarters lost it.
Not saying the Lieberals won't try something, because they will,,, soon, but I cannot see the two being related as in the government telling CTC to stop selling! It wouldn't help as there are too many shops selling sks now! The horse is out of the barn on this deal with 400,000 +++ sks in Canadians hands already and more selling every day! Canadian tire just lost my business!

I will continue to shop there. I bought my SKS from TEC. The ones left in Winnipeg looked a little junky. I have bought 2 Schmidt Rubins from them. They continue to have the best ammo selection in the city, especially for European stuff. Not to mention I can walk there.

Its not really a big deal for me. The rifles are widely available in better quality online. Its not like they don't sell crates of ammo for them.

Does anyone here on CGN have footage of this alleged full auto anomaly?
The information is from 2014 and have yet to hear of anyone having their sks go FA and I do know of people with several of sks as they are cheaper to buy that regular cf fiearms.
Im not a fan of the sks hell I even slag them from time to time, but they are a gun and this is a forum for enthusiasts and respect that !
But, fail to see the FA anomaly (alleged even) and Crappy tires Corporate decision to suspend sales .
Guys, accept that CT is not a Gun Store, but a Big Box Store that serves the Corporate Bottom Line and support the sponsors of this web site or even better yet the Mom and Pop stores across this country.

I think they are mistaking the rare slamfire that happens once in a blue moon when some lazy dolt doesn't clean their rifle! I really like the sks and its history, although I understand it isn't for everyone. Although it may happen,, I have never met a gun I didn't like! I like them all but some more than others! Reminds me of a quote from my ex wife's brother, " all women have some redeeming quality" it was a backhanded comment, likely directed at his "now" ex, wife! I laugh every time I think of it.

Honestly I see Canadian Tire trying to basically drop all firearms and automotive stuff and just sell patio furniture and crap small appliances
 
Does anyone still have the email addresses on the the stop sale notice? I would like to let them know I don't like this decision and that I intend to stop shopping there.

There were two Stop Sale notices with three different email addresses. I sent emails to all three but I received two delivery failed notices for email addresses that couldn't be found. I have not received a response from the third. I also sent an email on the Contact Us link on there webpage. There response didn't answer my questions or provide any real reason for why the SKS was removed.

This is a bull crap copy and paste response that Corporate has sent to others who have inquired about the stop sale.
 
Finally had a chance to stop by crappy tire GC this past saturday, sks's are gone, a few mosins remain but all the sks accessories are still on the shelves, fully stocked I might add
 
Scary stuff. Full auto with a five round magazine.

That would be almost like firing a shotgun once with buckshot.

It's a good thing they are taking them off the shelves to prevent people who are licensed to have firearms from breaking the law, getting arrested, and put in prison.
 
No loss I wouldn’t buy one from there anyways or should I say two hairy boys and a fat man couldn’t push me into the gun section there way overpriced I only buy ammo there and only if I have to
