secound is on my desk, just used gunstock stain and one coat of sealer, gotta sand and more coats of sealer.
Verry nice ;)
My only recomendation is to make the handgaurd the same wood to and use Tung Oil to seal it.

Very impressive. Even more so is that you actually have the tools/shop to do this.

My question is, if I just happened to be a 3D designer using the latest version of Autodesk Inventor 2011, and happened to model up my action and stock and come up with a fully modeled stock with inletting, could you cut it for me?

I would also suggest you leave a little more wood around the sides of the trigger group - the bottom of the group should be flush to the stock, not proud of it. It otherwise looks pretty nice.

Also, I would consider making it out of birch laminate. You can buy it by the sheet at Home Depot ;)

send me what you have, i would love to make another one, this was just a prototype. possibilities are endless, today im working on a prototype mold for some golf parts!

I really wish I had the dimensions for an SVT reciever since I already drew up a stock and aluminium carrier... better yet a 3D scanner so I can load a tool path to cut the pockets perfectly, sigh

i have a CNC FADAL machining center at my home shop, i have 30in-16in travel.

Mind sharing what a ballpark price tag on one of these might be?

This has really impressed me, and im looking for some new projects to take on over the next couple of years...

I hope this guy gets so wealthy off of those stocks that when McMillan goes to buy him out, he can just say F**K YOU and walk away. But it would be cool if he worked with Ian Robertson on a couple of projects.

I have been busy doing airospace parts and some other things, not enough demand to justify focusing on stocks, bought a cnc lathe a few mounths back, rob
