SKS D's are worth 600.00 now???

MMMMMM., Chest rigs do not come with the gun. The strippers are free with it.

If you looked harder than what i have for sale you would know that they go for 35 to 50 bucks on here for the rig in lesser condition than i have listed. I have not sold anything on here that was not fairly priced. An SKS-D for more than 300 is definately not "fairly priced" and as far as i am concerned you are taking advantage.

All my things are also best offer. If you watchthe exchange forums you would know that nothing i have is overpriced but fairly priced.

That is the worse thing about this board. You express an opinion to hopefully try and stimulate thought and you get nothing but greif back for it.

I was a young person getting into this sport not too long ago and more often than not could not get a decent price for anything because i did not have wrinkles on my face.

Do alittle more research before you make a comment like that especially when you attack some one specifically. I expressed an opinoin in general of my observations.

I also just expressed an opinion.

Do you not understand that people are free to ask whatever they want for their stuff?

No one is forcing you to buy anything. If you want it, you'll have to pay what is asked for it. If you think that's too much, don't buy it from the guy that's asking too much. If the item sell for cheaper generally, the guy that wants too much will adjust his price if he wants to sell.

It's a simple supply and demand theory.

It is not anyone's obligation to facilitate your cheap entry into the sport or help you out. This is a free market, not a church exchange.

As for attacking you, I am not at all and I was very clear about that, but if you want to feel sorry for yourself, fill your boots!

What's so unbelievable, the fact that you come here to tell me that I am trying to take advantage of new shooters for selling my stuff at the price that I think is fair or the fact that you sell your old Chinese used chest rig for twice what a brand new one goes for?

$12.99 at Marstar, brand new.

Cool! First up I'd love to know how they dealt with that Über stiff trigger release button in the field? :D

Was it really transmission fluid in those plastic oil bottles?

Also what does he think of coming to Canada and finding his old service rifles for sale to the general (licenced) public?

Maybe grill your dad on these questions for a few hours and write us an info thread on this. :)

haha nah it's short and quick

They used the tip of their ammo to release the trigger group, as far as putting it back together, he said you just have to lean your weight on it. He actually just showed me the other day.

He said the oil bottles were engine oil, at least that's what they were told.

My dad actually left China back in 95, lived in Kenya for a couple years, and then moved to TX, USA. So he's seen quite a few sks' in the last decade. As for being for sale for the public, there are actually registered hunters in China, we had a couple relatives in the far north regions that were hunters by trade. So he's pretty comfortable with it as well.

But yeah, even though he doesn't say so, I can tell he's pretty excited at getting this thing back again lol.

He told me stories of when he was on patrol near the base, they only gave them 2 cartridges lol.

Good times

two cartridges is way too much all you need is one and that oil was some of the finest i heard it goes for 600 a bottle as for the sks-d that the jack pot of all guns

I've been buying and selling guns for over 40 years and I price my stuff for sale by a couple of very simple rules ...

Rule # 1: "Never get emotionally attached to the inventory"
When I used to do this professionally [ as in = when I actually attempted to make a profit at it ] I lost track of how many times some young guy [ with NO WRINKLES ] came into our gun store and said .
"WOW, that new {fill in the blanks here } sure looks ###Y ... I just love that {FITBH }".

Now IMHO, anyone who thinks a gun is "###y" needs a girlfriend more than he needs another gun, but my job was selling guns, not counselling puppies

Rule # 2: what is it worth TO ME?

If I want it more than you do, then I get to keep it a bit longer.

If you want it more than I do, then it goes bye bye.

Right now, at the sunset of my life, I have WAY more $ 100 bills hanging around my house, than I do guns, so the profit motive just ain't there.

Which is why I would much rather trade my gun stuff for your gun stuff ... and who cares what prices we both put on the stuff?

"I'll trade you two $ 5000 kittens for your $ 10,000 puppy?"

So buy my gun at my price, or shut up already ...either way your opinions of my pricing don't really matter much to me.

The free market will sort itself out just fine ...
even with Communist guns like the SKS and the Norc 14.

And by the way, I'm looking for a Norc 14 right now, and I wish all you !@#$%^&**(()()_ Price Gougers would sell me one for $ 399, instead of the ridiculous prices you are trying to rip me off for. Help an old fogey out here ... make a new friend, and sell me YOUR M-14 without trying to make a gross, disgusting, obscene profit at it.

Or trade me your overpriced 14 for my overpriced SKS-D.
[;{)

Hahaha. That's pretty clever. But I am pretty sure if you really wanted to, you could sneak a few extra rounds into your pockets. It IS the army afterall...

i wonder what the the PLA would do to you if they cot you with extra ammo?

maybe get sent to the gobi desert front, where it boils and freezes all in one day. :puke:

why does members feel they have to be a wannabe EE police?

let the law of supply and demand dictate if the item is too high, if it is .... then... in most cases it wont sell but there is a tiny possibility you might be lucky and find a sucker out there but thats no fault of the seller, its buyers beware.

I think people post prices like this for obvious reasons, with 20,000+ members there's a sucker out there somewhere. For the record, I've sold about 7 or 8 SKS 's and SKS-D's on this forum and never charged what i felt was the right price... i priced it to sell quick. The most expensive one was $450 and that was for a Yugo sks in brand new condtion. Hell if you want a cheap SKS-D, I'll sell you my regular one for $200 and you can follow the instructions below to make your own D model that will stay open on the last shot.

This reminds me of the $699 M-305 from lever arms when you could buy it for $400 from marstar... lol

anyhow, if you got a dremel and some tools, go nuts. Instructions for making a D model in links below.

Cheers,

Olek

-done right this conversion is better then the chinese chop job which was destined for the us market anyway. so go nuts buy a few regular sks's covert them and sell 'em for $400 a pop... :runaway::runaway::kickInTheNuts:

If you want to screw up your SKS, use the D conversion method above.
I would only try it on an already bubba'ed SKS.

i wonder what the the PLA would do to you if they cot you with extra ammo:

A ticket to the nearest reeducation camp is likely a good bet. But like most things in commie China, you can probably bribe your way out of a bad situation.

Historically, most dictatorships who fear a coup or its own people would put restrictions on access to ammo and weapons.

Well, it IS the army. Sounds like they'd give a :slap:, then put you on #### detail for the rest of your week/month/assignment/career depending on how strongly they feel about it.

Speaking from experience? Had two done like that by my buddy both worked fine. I'll dig up some pics for you.

Why would you say it would screw it up?

I have seen two done, and the results where less then fantastic, and one took allot of love from a gunsmith I know to get working.

Start a thread on this and post pics, maybe we can drop the market value on the cost of the D models by making our own? :D

haha yeah they did some stupid #### back in the day.

He and 2 other guys were transporting an anti-material gun(is that what it's called? the big cal automatics that you use to shoot personnel transports)

Anyways the tractor they were using broke down, so they had to carry the damn thing across this field.

There wasn't anybody around so they thought they'd have some fun. There was this outhouse made out of straw and clay, they loaded it up and took a few shots at it; the whole thing just came down and collapsed LOL.

He said, you will never see 3 guys carrying a 200lb gun run so fast in your life

I would actually really like to see that happen. Just because I think SKS-Ds are a ripoff. I personally don't ever want to own ANY SKS's, this is purely from a personal approach.
