I use the 1" rubber spacer too, it solves the length of pull problem. The grip still feels like a pick handle, though. On Chinese SKS rifles I've owned I reshaped the grip to improve it but I'm going to leave my Yugo un-bubbaded so I'll just have to put up with it.

First time I have ever heard of this.
I'd have to see how you are holding the rifle, and how your trigger finger is placed, but to me it sounds like the new set up is not fitting yet.
Was the safety lever like this with the original stock?

way too short, my eye toutch the reciver, thats dangerous... well i guess tho i never fired with the original stock

Just a side note. Someone down in Texas told me that his SKS couldn't go bang cuz it was too cold while he was deer hunting......

cold in texas? eh, ... well, here in quebec we get -40 and dontycomplain, well, When you live in Texas, every single time you see snow it’s magical...

I'm sure it gets much colder in Moscow.
My 59/66 fits me like a proverbial glove, maybe I was just lucky ... Is there room for improvement ? Sure ! But for a gun that was designed to be brutally simple, and effective, it just doesn't get any better than that.
