SKS for $600?

I just jumped on their Christmas SPECIAL, $450 for a 1949 SKS with FREE shipping.

You won't beat that boys & girls, these things are MUCH harder to come by lately.

Thos 49's have been so tempting to me. But i have to many danm sks already and still some im looking for before ill get the 49.

With a 1949 in the stable, I'll clean out other years because they are 'common'... Chuckle

1949's are not common at all, even more uncommon is a 1949 with a skinny fore end where the bayonet folds in.

I picked one of these up sight unseen a few years ago from Westrifle, I believe the current 49's offered have been refitted with replacement stocks.

It was listed as a laminate, but close inspection of the ad & pics showed it to be a hardwood stock & that was what I wanted! ORDERED & saved with the Xmas special!

I just was in a shop that had a 49 all numbers matching stamped not etched and was in 9/10 condition. Owner said 500 out the door. Should I be jumping back in my truck and returning to grab it?

i may have missed a post here or there, and sorry for the sponsor for keeping this going some more, but other then the first year of production, whats the difference between this and my 54?( other then 5 years ya smart asses..lol) , sorry if its been answered already!!

If I walked into my local shop & they had that rifle, I would have bought it. I like inspecting firearms before I buy BUT that is not always possible... That being said, even though the mag doesn't match on my 1949, all the other parts are matching.

I'm happy.
