I've heard about this. Since the SKS was NEVER manufactured to fire in full-auto, this is a mechanical defect in the trigger mechanism - sounds to me like the disconnector isn't working right (however, I could be totally out to lunch).
Someone forgot to clean the cosmo out and had a slamfire. Run for the hills now all sks will be prohib LOL
I guess RCMP can't do search on the web : Slamfire SKS This is exactly the case, in fact the disconnector isn't functioning AT ALL in some of these older production SKS'. This is why that stop and hold order was issued for the SKS until the RCMP could figure out why a clean, non-full auto firearm was shooting full auto.
There is an extensive thread on this already in the Politics forum. Not a slamfire issue.
The firearm can be fired by simply releasing the cocking handle.
seems odd, maybe an old import [like WAAAYY old]
