SKS Keep or sell?

Keep your sks, if the turd bans them hide it until a real government gets in and un bans them
In the meantime go out and use it and have fun with it

Mares Legs will be on the chopping block, I suspect. They'll surely make a change to overall lengths which are allowable.

Like they did when they made 4" handgun barrels prohibs.

What sks? Keep it in protest and it's one more gun in private hands that the government doesn't know about. And that's a good thing as far as I can see.

Big difference between US and Canadian markets. There is an import ban on SKS down south driving collector prices up. Not so up here where you can still get them for under $300. Tula is most common Russian SKS and matching numbers is standard. They were mostly all force matched during refurbishment so mismatched numbers is less common. List it for $600 and the only responses you'll get will be a-holes either #####ing or laughing at you. They are definitely not going for $600 in Canada. There are some 1949 and Yugo SKS at higher prices and a few unissued non refurbs with high asking prices but a run of the mill is a tough sale even at $300.

I totally forgot about the import ban. If i were to sell it I'd probably be asking 500-600 with everything that goes along with it, as I have half a case of surplus ammo, bag of new brass, 2 boxes of SST bullets, powder, tapco magazine and a lee die set.

You’re not going to get $600 even with a bunch of accessories. It’s an SKS, not a precision bolt gun. Even people who reload for the most part don’t care about reloading for it, and unless the sale is local it would be cheaper per round to buy a case of ammo online from some place with free shipping.

It’s a cheap enough gun that you should just buy the Mares Leg and have both.

You’re doing a disservice to yourself and the Canadian gun owning community by giving up and trying to dump the problem on someone else before you even know what the government’s plan is. If anything you should be buying a Mares Leg and a 2nd SKS.

Personnaly I'd keep it, but that's me.

Your decision to sell it seems to be made already. Here is my advice:

-List the gun for 300$ OBO it will be gone by the end of the day. 250$ shipped would be my offer as this is their value in Canada. Right now I can buy "new" at 2 local stores for 239.99, have it in my hands and inspect several before I buy THE one.

-List reloading components, ammo and accessories at market value -10% and they should sell

packages rarely sell from experience.

Could not have said it better.:)

Worst case, the SKS is grandfathered.

It will never be bought back, just grandfathered to stop further imports, everyone should have one to increase the number of legal owners. If they try to buy back any guns then it opens the door to 12(6) compensation.

The liberals will never get the money for a buy back. Never, it's not in their plan.

If you have one, keep it.

If you don't have one, grab it before the price jumps.
