Looking for suggestions on how to increase the lop on an Sks.

I would like to keep the original stock because for a 60 year old gun it looks really good. Would also like to keep it clean looking but I understand it won't really look like it was meant to be there.

So, what have you found works really well for you?
 
I bought 1" stock extensions, not sure if Russian or Chinese, solid rubber screw on type from a guy on the EE. Not the slip on booty type extension.
 
Forum member mobular sells surplus Chinese sks butt pads, they extend the lop 1". They screw in to the existing holes in the butt stock, they come with longer mounting screws. I have them on both mine, they're a perfect fit.


 
that's the main reason one of my sks's is now on a tapco intrafuse,with vietnam tigerstripe gunskin.the lop is way short for me.my kids and buddies shoot my stock version.
 
Just installed this 1" slip over style on my SKS that also has 2 screws securing it. It also absorbs the recoil and makes it easier for my teenage son to shoot.

You don't like punching yourself in the nose?
 
Very very snug made for the SKS, had push it on and tap it with a mallet to fully seat it. Really didn't need to use any screws but did.

Love the way it shoulders now and like the dimples on the pad really doesn't slide now.

I did not want a solid pad as my kids also like shooting so was trying to tame the recoil even though it's pretty mild to begin with. :)

They work great as they were meant for the sks and they don't look like a fuggly rubber boot like most slip on pads. I'm trying to figure out a way to mount one on an svt, one hole lines up but not the other. I'm not going to drill a new hole into my svt either, svt40 would be nice with an extra 1" of length of pull.
 
I asked the same question once and the best reply I got was to change my stance. Instead of standing sideways to the target , try bringing your right foot forward (if you shoot right handed) and stand facing the target. Give it a try, I'm 6'5" and it helped me with that tiny SKS lop.
 
I have fitted both the slip over and standard pads on my SKSs and found that the non slip over needed fitting especially if you refinish the stock.

I chose a slip this time as preferred recoil absorbing design and fact it is easy to remove and go back to the metal plate.

Here is my cheap CT SKS with hand rubbed Tung Oil.

That is a very good looking slip on, not at all the rubber boot look! What is the name and where did you find it?
