sks man

well my payment is still not visible online though my bank, but it takes 3 or so business days to update, so hopefully today I will have some info.

I had made an order back in march, I wasn't charged for almost 3 weeks than when i had almost given up i seen the charge appear, shortly after my items arrived, the general consensus is slowwww but reliable

i am trying to order a choate scope mount,

Then match or come close to SKSMAN's prices.

As an importer & legitimate business I am obligated to import firearm parts legally. That means, Importer licence, business licence, brokerage fees, shipping to the border (which im sure you paid on top of that $9). I have to tie up my money in stock, as well as leasing a place to keep it all, so my customers can have excellent service, & their items in hand in 3-5 days. I cannot compete with American pricing because we are not on a level playing field. Im sorry, but that is the way it is for us Canadian businesses. I hope you look at our website http://www.hical.ca/apps/webstore/ & contact us if you have any Question or items you would like to see us bring in for you guys! Thanks, rant over...

Why would I ever buy Canadian, When Its cheaper in the USA !!!!

its unfortunate. who wouldnt want to support a canadian guy, but the reality is that at a 3rd of the price, and with ever tighter budgets, its hard not to order from sksman

that's so true. Ordering from Paul (sksman) is like ordering straight from the factory. And since he uses Postal delivery cost is way down. No brokerage fees or taxes.

Please look up AMPS penalties. This is what he is going to give you. You can not go after him as he is USA citizen and not Canadian. Please download PDf and read. It is just that nobody yet complain about him and customs did not catch you. I wish you all the good luck until you get cough and pay a minimum of $1000.
As to all who do it the legal way good luck with your Canadian legal business.

Regards,

I can't speak for others, but my recent shipment from SKS Man had a slip on the envelope (official USPS Customs Declaration) with a declared value of $50 for the parts (which were really only $47, so he rounded up in the gov't favour). Nothing illegal is going on. Sometimes customs will ignore small orders like this one was. Sometimes, like my recent Brownells order which was for a bit more money, they will charge taxes and a $5 fee for Canada Post to act as a broker.

I will try to buy Canadian when I can (and pay a bit more to support Canadian businesses), but when the markup on a small part that a retail store in the USA can sell for $9 and still make money on is being sold for $29 up here, I will shop down south.

Everything I've ordered from Paul, always came with the actual value declared, so if the proper taxes or fees were not attached to the parcel as payment due (As I have had happen with others). Then that would be the fault of CBSA employees who allowed the package to pass through and on to it's destination.

...not really the "fault" of the CBSA employees, but rather focusing their efforts on collecting where it can actually pay for itself. When the fees incurred to collect tax will cost more than the taxes they are trying to collect, it doesn't make sense to pursue a few bucks in taxes.

there is a USPS declaration sticker from him. If they choose to charge duty on it they can, but since when is it illegal to buy non-import restricted items from the states. people buy from ebay all the time.

mail

I got everything I ordered. I got it fast, I got it cheap, and he threw in lots of advice backed up by knowledge and experience. What more can ya ask for?

Thumbs up, Paul
