SKS price alert

Way too much for that version of the Chinese SKS. French Ticklers and Jungles should be about there. But for the garbage tier Cabelas SKS yeah that's a rip off
In my opinion they are raising the prices for the incoming buy back(if there will even be one!!!) in February as the sks will be on the list. They just had it on sale for $450. People complained they were to much around $200-$250.
Crates of 7.62x39 are on sale $399 at Cabelas right now…..woulda coulda shoulda

Nice. It almost sounds too good to be true. But I do remember those days

I wish I would have bought one in 1995 at the Kamloops gun show. There were $99.99 and a case of ammunition was also inexpensive. Unfortunately I don't remember the ammo prices......:(
I saw the same deal in Brandon Mb Home Hardware on 18th street back in 2004…

Was at THE GUN DEALER in NB yesterday and they had some nice blade bayo / chi com / numbers matching SKS for $620.00 with 10 % off and free ship.Seen a nice Mosin Sniper too!

Zelly, those cases are only 1100 rounds, not the 1440s. That comes out to 42c/round vs 37c/round for the 720-cans from Tenda. BUT Tenda is OUT of them and their 550 cans are $230 which is 48c/round.
So - fairly OK price if Tenda doesn't get more of the 720s in stock. It's still cheaper than the Norinco box/20s even on 'Sale'.
If you don't want to 'wait 'n See' I'd buy some b4 they drop the Sale. Prices prob won't get better next year.
And I get MOA in my bolt Ruger Ranch with the Chinese M-S.

Yeah that makes sense to me definitely believable, luckily I have a bunch of 7.62 left over from my dearly departed Type 81

I think that's mostly a function of the crappy dollar and inflation. Nothing's inexpensive anymore. The government won't have to ban anything, it'll just eventually get too expensive for anyone but the rich to be able to afford firearms, never mind buying the ammo, range memberships and gas to go shooting.

As it is, I cringe everytime I shoot 223 and 308 because it'll be harder these days to replace what I shoot. I can still afford to buy the ammo fortunately, but not 1000-2000 rounds at a time like I could 12 years ago. No point in reloading unless you're going for supper specific match grade results cuz it's not any cheaper anymore.
Oh you're 100% right, plus some greed from second hand sellers and the gun stores trying to increase already narrow margins and we are where we are

Just left Cabelas in Barrie. They price matched G4C 1440 crate price. So around $.30 a round before tax. Not badIMG_6135.jpeg

Good for you, zelly. Local BP doesn't have any on hand. I'll go there 2morrow to see if they'll 'match' and ship in from on-line. Tax out here is 15%, but still a good deal @ 35c.

Like I said 2-weeks ago - Looked today and tenda has the 720's back in stock @ $230 = 32c + tax. Musta got another "Container" in ? ? Or just "Found" another skid in the back room ? ?

Yeah my eyesight is crap so 8 1/2 x 11 @ 50-100 with irons is good enough for me and I didn't plan on shooting 762x39 farther than that
Here's shots last summer @ 175, temp 24C(75F). Using Iron sights, the First 3 at 'center of paper' since I can't 'see' the drawn target at that distance. #4-5 at pie tin, once I got the feel of shots (using spotting scope after each shot) and #6 at 'area of bull' . Then the 4-Bull target at 100-yds using a 'barrel-mounted' 3-MOA Red Dot Reflex, with hits numbered. And I've got a scope mount coming for the Spring - might help

yup, still got a couple of those 200 crates LOL
Been thinking though..... the cabelas price at 420 for 1440 might be the best price we see going forward.
I'm thinkin my entire tax return is gonna get spent on ammo this year and maybe a brick of primers if I can hold out for a deal somewhere.

Same here, sitting on 3 crates of czech still and a crate of Romanian, and a few thousand Non corrosive as well, and bought 500 east german blister packed rounds last weekend too because I thought they were neat. The Sks's get out much, and the non corrosive was for my vz58, which has been sitting there patiently.
