Sks rifles from recent sale

I got an sks last year that had been burnt. Every part was mismatched & trigger springs rusted completely. I was going to Polish it up, but after scraping off the heavy black paint I knew something wasn't right. I filled & sanded the barrel & noticed the heavy discoloration was right through the metal. ! Absolute Junk. Instead of being bright & shiny like other ones I did......this one stayed patchy blue. these are bottom barrel for sure.

I picked a Chinese one from a site sponsor a few weeks ago on sale for 209, they discretion said very rough guns and not to expect cleaning rod, I actually wanted a junker all my other sks are too nice to abuse in the woods, however when I received the gun it was almost mint everything matched but mad had cleaning rod and once I got all Cosmo out of stock was beautiful, was kinda disappointed.. Lol

The wood stock on the SKS is Soo nice.... Laminate is much more rugged that's why we have both. This was a rifle from a couple years ago that cleaned up nice.
no dings in the stock, just tricks of light. This is my most accurate SKS as well.

I just got my tracking today. I ordered on the 23rd about 8 PM
I'll wait to see what I get.. I kept a hard copy of blued steel statement also..
We shall see.....

I ordered first day. Got junk. Poor paint on rifle and bayonet. The action felt like someone threw a handful of sand Into it. Sent back for refund. Out 40 bucks.

Same. I can only laugh at the painted bayo and the horrid, horrid stock. All I needed this gun to be was blued with a good barrel. Got neither. By the time they said they'd allow refunds I already had 5 hours in the stock. Would have been $40-50 to return it anyway.
I bought two guns in January, both disappointments. At least this one was only $237 and not $1700. Lesson learned - never buying guns sight unseen again.

I just got my shipping notice yesterday, fingers crossed, this is my first time buying a gun sight unseen. I know there has been a lot of issues with the shipping time but to be honest, if waiting a week or two to keep the price down is what it takes then I'm fine with that!

After some of these posts I thought about cancelling the order but I'm rolling the dice that we're seeing the worst of the worst posted and that those getting good ones aren't really bothering to post. I'm an optomist! Ultimately, for under $250 I'll be happy if she's decent. I've been watching for my first SKS for close to a year now and I haven't seen anything I'd classify as excellent for under $250 (all in), so really, figured it's worth a shot, as long as she shoots, nothing really lost. We'll see!

Sell it on the EE, it may suit someones needs, and you can get your money back out of it.

I recently got a poorly fitted, mismatched example of a chinese sks from a site sponsor, I was unsure about even firing the thing for safety concerns (chipped firing pin). I had it at the range and it was just as reliable and accurate as my #'s matching, unreburbished russian. Just sayin, no regrets on the $200 I spent on that fugly thing.

I brought from EE in January a Chinese old import in like new condition for 285$ shipped. I worth to burn a few extra bucks than to buy "the end of the barrel" from dealers.

Many of the ones posted in their thread before they locked it wouldn’t even fetch $100 on the EE, heck even the BBQ paint ones are less than $150 on the EE, so please tell me how these poor customers are going to ‘get there money back out of it’?! Just not gonna happen

Yup I agree.. How any business can send out that junk.. And not return all the BBq paint and junk ones to the distributor is beyond me???

I don't have an issue with the bbq painted guns or ones that are "beat up" as long as the vender selling them discloses that fact and prices them accordingly

It's a shame to think many owners bubba'd the real nice Russians imported from the Ukraine 5 years ago. There were a bunch of brand new '53 '54, '55 and letter dated rifles in that batch!

(Yes, there is such a thing as a non-refurbished Russian SKS)
