Sks rifles.

That has to be the fastest shipping in the history of the post office. 2 or 3 days? Awesome. I got mine today. Covered in grease, and in brand new condition.

Fitting it into the Tapco stock was easy, except for the hand guard over the gas tube. that pin was a bastard, trying to get it out. I got it though.

Thanks Johnone, for putting up with my phone calls and harassment. I'm very pleased with this rifle and the customer service. Good job. I will be ordering another one for my wife shortly.

Now that I have it all together, I have to disassemble it again to make sure I got all the packing grease cleaned up, then I shoot!

!

New yes, but very greasy. If the firing pin doesn't rattle all by itself, its not safe to shoot. They need to be taken completely apart and cleaned. They've been sitting in grease for a long time. You don't have to take the stock completely apart, but it will ooze cosmo for a quite awhile. Just make sure the bolt carrier and pin is well cleaned before you shoot.

Well this is a nice shooting gun. I'm very happy with it.
I have the Tapco Stock on it, and a muzzle break. It looks awesome and is very nice to shoot. Nice groups from prone, consistent.

I notice that the hunting rounds I picked up must not be as hot as the surplus rounds. At 50 yards the hunting rounds are hitting about 6 inches lower that the surplus. A quick adjustment on the rear sight fixes that.

Great gun. I have gone through hundreds of rounds and I'm enjoying this thoroughly. Thanks Marstar!

Seems kind of opposite unless you're using a heavier grain bullet like a 150gr. S&B and PVRI 125gr soft points are loaded hotter and shoot higher compared to surplus ammo 125gr. At 50 yards the soft points are about 3 or 4 inches higher.

What do you recommend for a cleaner?

to clean the cosmo off, I like to use Spray9, a lot of others use Simple green..... for most of the crud, just use paper towel though, and to make the firing pin rattle, the best way is take the bolt apart and take the pin out, then clean everything with carb cleaner, then put it back together.

Got my SKS's today!

Holy ####, 3 hours and a can of carb cleaner later, we finally got them clean enough for a range trip! Fired 600+/- through each ---- flawless. Surprisingly more accurate than I though, 8 inch gong at 200yards and we were plinking in a breeze.

Over all very very content. Good job John----well worth the price and the wait!

lol, ignore the message I just sent

Got my two SKSs today. Both look awesome. Going to have fun cleaning one tonight. I plan on stripping it down to parts, taking the original finish off the stock and re-finishing it with tung oil.

Going to leave the other one in its current condition and sell/transfer it to my brother when he gets his licence (soon). He wants to mall ninja it. ATI stock, scope, blah blah blah.

Starting to think that the Canada Post lady that keeps knocking on my door - delivering my firearms! - is sick of seeing me.
