SKS & SKS-D Prices...WTF?

Miss My SKS D

My first was an SKS-D I sold for $500..and I would gladly buy it back now for $550 or even $600. It worked perfectly, looked great, ate anything and took AK mags.

I sold her away becasue I got impatient wanting to fund an AR. I LOVE my AR, but just being able to cruise out and shoot practically anywhere (non-restricted) was nice.

I gave an 86 Jimmy away last year, should have saved it to trade for an SKS D. :D

Sold my first SKS-D for 400, but I missed it so much that I bought another one for 500. Sold that one too and now I can't find another one for less then 600, which I will pay, because I love the gun.

Bro, for that type of money you are into the CZ-858-2 zone. Why not get one of those instead? I know it doesn't take the AK mags, but it looks alot more like an AK than a SKS to my eye. Made in Czech not China- better quality by far I'm sure!

Give Gunnar at Armco a call. When I get more gun money that's what I'm going to do.:D

I had two. One CZ and one VZ. First was restricted,second non-restricted. Had nothing but problems with both of them and to top it all, they felt like a toy gun in my hands. Could not fit my last two fingers on the pistol grips.

I lost money selling them, because they needed fixing and parts. No more czech stuff for me.

+2 on this...the CZ is a very well built rifle, and since you're willing to pay the same for an SKS D...I'd go with the CZ.

Well for one thing they are made to exact standards and one can expect to pay more and more for such a quality firearm. :rolleyes: The more they make the better they get unlike those pesky Remington's and Ruger's that don't hold their value after the first trip to the range.:eek:
I won't own an sks because they are out of my price range and I wouldn't want to ruin that perfect finish or scratch the pot metal.:dancingbanana: Remington bolt guns are not as desireable because it takes too long to cycle that clumsy bolt thingy resulting in lost chances at game. And most of the bolt guns have calibers that are too big and slow for deer, with the sks you can have a high capacity mag that will allow you to shoot 15 or 20 rapid fire rounds to down that deer.:runaway:

Its the restricted part that makes me stay away. Getting to the range is such a pain when I can drive just as far and shoot in the bush.
