SKS Stovepipe Stoppage?

I am noticing that my SKS seems to be having a recurring stoppage problem.
First off, it is a 1950 Tula SKS in minty refurbed condition. I clean it immaculately after every shooting.
Every couple of rounds I get a classic, projectile pointed straight up, stove pipe stoppage.
Sometimes it will fire 20 rounds without problem, sometimes it will happen every 5 rounds or so and sometimes not at all
I have no other issues with the rifle. She is in VG to Excellent condition, this occurs wether I am using Wolf ammunition or surplus. I have fired at least 3 or 4 types of ammunition in it and eventually will encounter the same scenario. It seems to happen at the second to last or last round in the magazine.
I am wondering if anyone else experienced this problem, any ideas as to what is causing this, or how to remedy the situation?
Thanks all.

It's stove-piping an unfired round?

If so, it's probably magazine related. Are you using the original magazine?

My guess is that the gas tube is leaking, leaving it short stroking when it cycles... Lots of threads about how to fix it.

I tend to lean towards Stevo's idea. Alot of issues have been noted with the magazine frankenstin block job that they did. Either that or there could be a burr on the follower. To hard to tell with out being there to debug it.

It's the original magazine. The entire rifle is stock.
It is stove piping an unfired round.
The magazine has the metal cylinder plug rivetted into the base.

Don't refer to it as "stove-piping" then. That term refers to a failure to eject issue with a fired case. You're having a failure-to-feed.

Remove the mag and check it for any damage. Make sure the follower arm is straight.

If you have another SKS, or a buddy with one, swap the mags and give it a try again.

Thanks.
I'll give it a try.
Thanks for the input all.
Cheers.
