SKS vs M14 vs CZ858 - opinions and comparisons wanted

Or if you live in the lowermainland go see Colin @ Reliable Gun they have a few left in stock. But for how long no on knows!

hehe I saw Colin @ reliable, he was a great help! Unfortunately, reliable was fresh out of CZs at the time so I ended up ordering elsewhere. But I was very impressed with Reliable's customer service, and will be doing business there in the future for sure.

IMO the 858 is the best of the bunch. of course you can buy a russian sks at present with 2 cases of ammo for the same price.

My first choice would be the cz858, i have 1 and i love it!
The SKS is a good alternative, i have not tried the norinco m14 but i'm much more confident about reliability of a cz or sks than a norc m14. Sorry if i hurt someones.

CZ858 is the best
a- walther locking system
b- CZ quality/renowned barrels
c- just the general hiquality manufacturing procedures from the good folks at CZ/Brno

a yugo sks would be ok the Serbian's also have been known for verygood arms manufacturing and as far as Norinco go i know they are neat fun guns but they are NOT the real Mckoy

haha hopefully you gathered some useful info!

I've been happy with the CZ, now I've got my eyes on an SL8 in .223. Trying to decide if it would be a much better gun, or if i should just stay w/ the CZ

I've got 2 Russian SKS's ('51 and '54 Tulas), and a Norinco 305S (M14 clone). IMO, the SKS's are "fun guns", good for plinking and maybe varmint/ closer range deer hunting , but the M14 is a heavier caliber rifle, more suitable for longer range and bigger game.
