Saw that the SKSs are back at my Canadian Tire. They had just a few but another local store had 140. Just doing a little math, that might mean a few thousand on the market. The ones I saw were shooters. Looked like a duracoat barrel, non matching numbers, original hardwood and very good bore.

Leila or Kenaston location? Still $199?

Funny story... I was in Southside RED DEER CT on wednesday... here is what the gun counter attendent said when asked about black rifle and sks':

They are not allowed by upper management to stock black rifles or anything scary looking, however they can do special orders if cleared by uppwr management.

Sks' were pulled off the shelves for a while before the FA "issue" because some soccer mom complained about the bayonets! Haha. The are now back from inspection too!

Clayton Park CTC has them on for $169, some laminates, they also have them in the tapco and timbersmith stocks! He just ordered 400 more rifles,( not all sks) and he has a norc, 12 ga coach gun with the 12 " barrel!

So that's why they removed the bayos from my local CT... Hm.

Still none in gta, I doubt there ever will be. I was at princess auto in Newmarket the other day and was talking to the manager about they're air rifles, they had lots of cool stuff. Hand guns, rifles, and air soft. I said so when are you gonna start selling real guns ? Why would we do that ? Well canadian tire is doing it again. Oh? Really...hmmm

;)

Seriously, and respectfully, who the f*** cares if Cambodian Tire carries SKS's? Buy one from one of the reputable vendors and you'll never go wrong, or be recorded in some stupid log book. Weimajack, Corwin Arms just to name a few. Tradex and Westrifle also have some select SKS's.

I also don't understand why anyone would buy from Can Tire unless they are way ahead on price. Personally, I don't care if CT has guns or not....they made their bed a long time ago.

Because they are owned by independent businesses owners. I know my local CT owner personally and enjoy giving him business. He owns every thing in the building from the stock to displays. He operates under the CT Corporate policies, banner and buying power solely. When you buy a gun, a light bulb or a wrench you are buying it from a local businessman. He paid for that product through CT's buying power, from his own bankroll.

They may be independently owned but they are still operating under corporate protocol and rules on what they can or cannot sell from what I understand. They pay franchise rights to be allowed to sell what corporate allows them to sell. So that aren't as independantly owned as some people think.

Yes, I said they operate under the Corporate banner and policies. There are obvious restrictions as a result. They are not the same as Joe's Hardware store on the corner. But the owner does pay employees who live in the community out of his pocket, which infuses local economy. Owners can also stock regional specific items to cater to the area the store is located.

Because I can buy a rifle with a fist full of Canadian tire money. It may take an hour for the cashier to count it but that's OK by me. The Canadian Tire I deal with will let you sort through the crate. Granted the quality of the SKS's at the time were mediocre.
I love the look on horrified faces in line when I buy a crate of ammo. A lady with 2 young kids asked me what the wood box was, I said ammunition, her jaw dropped and swiftly went to a longer line.... Priceless!

Which means they have to follow corporates rules which includes what gun policy they ultimately follow, so #### Cambodian tire...

Buy from a real Indy Local gun shop if you have one or from a reputable online dealer, not some ####ty chain store.
