SKS's back on the shelves at CTire

Well, a rude and condescending attitude from a jilted member does little to sway me. I buy from a myriad of gun stores, online, local and chain at my leisure.

CTC gets a lot of their firearms and product from North Sylva, a sponsor ,plus other canadian suppliers, I do wish they would become a sponsor themselves but the local manager said it had to be corporate policy. I have bought SKS from the Freddy store but not locally as he does write down the info, I told him I would not for that reason! He claims it is only for returns but I cannot see that as you have a receipt! Ammo they do not.

Jilted? lol that's funny, I just choose wisely who I support with my hard earned dollars. Never been jilted by Cambodian tire as I never buy firearms or ammo from them, simple as that. They do nothing for the firearms community except try and cash in on it, pity you can't see that...

Oh Oh, look out. Angry gun owners on the loose ;) Man, some of you guys need to chill a bit. I personally don't plan on buying an SKS or any other firearm from Canadian Tire, but I started the thread because I thought it was interesting and important. If larger corporate entities want to be involved in the firearm business, its probably better for all of us in the long run. Also there are plenty of people who don't have access to any other dealers, unless they want to do mail orders.

My CT recently started selling long guns and has a better selection of guns than my lgs does on average 20% cheaper, I see no reason I should pay a premium to support a business that charges extra just because it was, until recently, the only gun store in town.

I say buy from whomever you like...Mom and Pop outfit or big box store - if they have what I want for what I'm willing to pay, I will give them my business. If they treat me well, they will keep it. The more choices, the better.

I feel the same way, Canadian Tire does have the best price. In Leduc Alberta just show your PAL and away you go, no recording of information. Hardwood $179.00 Laminate $189.00.

The best thing about Canadian Tire selling firearms is that it put guns back out into the view of the mainstream public , and makes firearm ownership more accepted in Canadian society......it must drive the anti-gun folks crazy....the more exposure that the Canadian public has to firearms , the better....

I agree 100%

For sure. Anyone who doesn't realize that is either stubborn, holding a grudge or closed minded to the bigger picture.

Why " Cambodian " Tire, why not just call it " Crappy " Tire, why use a racial slur ? If we are to be a community of firearms owners and to seen a well respected, law abiding citizens who enjoy this hobby or sport. Are we promoting that its for a select few or for all ? coz just using that term even if it's to describe Canadian Tire just alienated Asian members and probably deterred potential new owners and members to CGN, and to the cause, that we are well respected law abiding citizens who welcomes all. Sorry guys I know this an SKS thread but couldn't help it.

ChinaTire is more accurate than CambodianTire. I don't think there's a racial slur involved here.

Personally, I have never been to a Canadian Tire that stocked firearms. Paintball guns, bows, ammunition, and air guns - but no firearms.

I am jealous.

the connotation is that China = cheap. which is a greatly unfair generalization, and is no different than a gypsy being a cheat or a Jew being cheap. It is discrimination to identify an issue by stating a nationality or religion and lumping all persons together.

By calling it ChinaTire or CambodianTire, you suggest that it is cheap because your view of China or Cambodia is cheap.
