SKS's flying off the Equipment Exchange

So as it currently stands your club is not allowing any of the 12g or 10g shotguns affected in the wording and interpretation of the oic?

They didn't comment on that. The email went out over the weekend before that whole mess blew up. My guess would be they aren't going to give a #### about those, particularly because Bill Blair has already come out saying that they are not prohibiting shotguns (yes I am well aware of what the law says. Its not going to stop me from using my 12ga though, although I rarely use it at the range either way. Chances of anyone being convicted of possession of a prohib weapon with their shotgun seems extremely low considering all the variables.)

where? Cab has it $490 plus tax.

Unsurprisingly, everywhere seems sold out right now.

I listed a nice Russian laminate on EE and 3 hours later it was on it's way halfway across the country to its new owner.

These guns are going to be a big deal soon so if you want one I wouldn't wait to long. And no I'm not saying what I sold mine for but the buyer was happy.

I feel like with higher prices SKS will become more appreciated in Canada.. It is expensive in the US and I haven't seen nearly as much bashing of it on US forums as we have here.. You don't value what your got for cheap, lol.

I said here on CGN two years ago that a real value of a Russian SKS is between 800-1000$, if they are made today this will be MRSP price.

One used a Russian just popped up for $800. Lol!

I would say they would cost even more than that... Battle proven, simple, reliable designs. Accurate and effective enough to 200 meters, easily...
My absolute favorite rifle. If it was 3-4 inches shorter and a pound lighter we would have a total winner lol

I hear ya.

I got a rare bird with a 18.5” barrel and spike that Marstar brought in, likely left overs for California. Commercial SKS but a shortened version of the typical type 56. It is not a paratrooper but a regular one with a shorter barrel. Keeping it!

I’m so conflicted!
Do I sell an sks or two to fund my 9mm carbine plans or just sit tight

From the looks of things my Russian tapco could pay most of a Ruger 9mm. That wasn’t the case 3 week ago ...

Shooter grade Yugos are still available at Tradex..

I have 3 Russian and 1 Chinese SKS's in various configurations. The only reason that I've never been interested in the Yugo SKS's is that they do not have chrome-lined bore. I've been shooting exclusively corrosive ammo. One of my Russians, the 2014 Molot refurb has already nearly 3,000 rounds through the pipe. The bore looks like brand new. Sharp, silver shining rifling. Obviously, I thoroughly clean with Ballistol after each shooting session. I wonder how would the Yugo SKS bore look like after 3,000 rounds? If someone has it let me know about it.

I had a mint Russian before, had to sell to fund a long range rig. That was a very enjoyable gun. I like shooting for accuracy and I heard that Yugos are a bit more accurate because of the non chrome bore, and I never shoot corrosive - Barnaul is my choice. So I decided to get a Yugo this time:)

I got my last SKS from Cdn Tire for $169.99 and after adding something to get the pre-tax bill above $200 received a gift card for $50.00. Plus they allowed me to go through the supply they had before I selected one.

I should have bought two then used the gift card that would come with the purchase to buy whatever it was I "really" needed.
