My first black rifle arrived today, and man the pics don't do it justice! This is one nice looking gun, I can't wait to take it out for a spin!:D

I must say, I ordered a M15 mag conversion kit for this and I think I'll stick with the original mags. Just can't bring myself to do anything to this gun like take a dremel to the stock. The original mag well is made for the gun, and the plastic clip has some cool factor.:dancingbanana:

So, anyone want to buy a couple M15 5/30 mags and a mag conversion for an SL8?:p

Lastly, what kinds of mags might I be able to get for this that would be true to the originals? Will a G36 mag fit this? Are there pinned versions available?

You will still have to remove/grind the 2 tabs inside the magwell in order to fit G36 mags.
The G36 mags are very hard to find here in Canada.

So....your vault is on your wifes side of the bed?????

Nah, it's in the bedroom closet. The clanking of the doors and such bother her. Anyway, I'll go grab a pic now as she is up. :D Careful, it's a big photo!

What you think???

Does the mag well conversion kit come with a new bolt? I heard somewhere the bolt is designed to feed from single stack mags and needs to be switched out to feed from stanag mags.

Can someone confirm/deny?

I think you confused with the Yankee version(SL8-1) which have a indented receiver and magwell to take a special single-stacked mag.

The SL8-4/5 we are getting here have the doubled-stacked magwell.....

thanks guys, I am talking to someone on HKpro about buying a folding stock/trigger group, he's got all these other weird parts, just wanted to be sure I didnt need them!!

What do you want for the AR mags? :)

I paid $30 each for the Ar mags plus shipping and tax. The haven't been used other than to try to fit in the conversion kit. Still torn whether to grind those plastic nubs so I can use the mags or sell them and the conversion kit as well.

grind the nubs off, it's a weird feeling cutting it up but once its done you won't regret it. They're not visible from the outside and you can still use the factory well and mags
