wel i have owned a g36 and boy what a gun it is.
but the optics suck as a assault rifle.
iron with a aimpoint is the way to go.
The only g36/sl8 ive had my hands on looked ok but the barrle was to long and heavy and the butt stocks was waaaaaaaay to long.
if you can fix the buttstock then it would be ok.
but u will still be stuck with sl8 mags and not g38 mags , unless you go to the m16/magwell.
anyone want to post some pics ill send some of my g36 and ump.

Great info for the G36 SL8 conversions. I have heard the same complaint about the length of the stock (too long)
Im also hoping to reduce the barrell to 18.5" (470mm) and adding a FH. This keeps it as NON RESTRICTED even with the stock folded.
Q: Are the standard G36 optics worth the $$$$ (with or without reddot)

I'm just curious if any of the G36's have a barrel lenth of 18.5" or greater so that a SL8 could be cut down and be left unrestricted and appear the same. What is the barrel length of a SL8?

Hi guys ... OK I need some G36 STOCK HELP.
I just got the TN SL8 stock and this unit didnt come with the stock spring to allow for the stock to fold. I have the plastic button, but I imagine that there is a heavy spring and a plastic part that limits the travel on the button? Any one suggest a source for Springs? Can anyone post what I should be looking for in terms of OEM parts?

if it's stuck, you have to get it out by pressing a visible tab, then remove the .45acp casing that is holding it.
There are no 'oem' parts on this stock/adapter. Just go to Canadian tire and find a spring that looks about right. Try the screen door repair section.
There is no tab, and the plastic button moves freely up and down. I did get a spring but it looks as though there is a part missing to keep the button from popping out due to the spring.
When the stock is folded there is a visible square notch that lines up with the hole in the side of the button, any suggestions as to what will work best to limit the button?

Sorry to ressurect the thread, but I just bought an SL8 and I too want to get a folding stock for it.
