slight but noticable "mottling" or "freckling" on reloaded GP11 brass after reloading

clean, nice shiny brass, reloaded, looked nice.

Two days later I wanted to show it to someone, and pulled it out of the box and it had little "freckles" on it. Cannot feel them, but you can see them. Sort of "zombie" brass, if you get my meaning.

used RCBS case lube, wiped most of it off after everything was done, but you can tell they were lubed still. Put in the surplus paper GP11 boxes, and 18 of them in my 3 mags. 2 loose rounds.

all exhibit this.

Any ideas?

anything I can do to prevent it next time?

anything I can do to clean these up?

also, I did 42 rounds of 8mm mauser and about 70 rounds of .223 at the same time with the same lube and equipment, and all of that is still clean and shiny.

yea, I'll get a picture. its just kind of a pain in the ass because you have to upload to another server first, then link it here.

I clean the brass by tossing it in a tumbler and taking it out when its done. ground walnut shells for media.

so I can tumble loaded ammo? no danger of a tip hitting a primer? we all know that would make the news and the spin would be horrendous.

No, it takes a very sharp hit to set off a primer. I've crushed primers flat and they never went off because it was a slow crush and not a fast sharp hit.

There is also another myth about the powder breaking down from the vibration causing it to burn much faster but I've yet to experience that or even read about it actually happening to someone. I should try tumbling various powders in various cases for a week straight and see how they come out.

My wife has freckles and we have been married over 40 years and I still love her, load and shoot your ammo and don't worry about it.
Just wait until you get older and get age spots, then get alzheimer's and forget where you put the ###### and can't shoot at all.

LOL, guess what? I did just decide to go shoot it instead. it worked just great. 2" groups at 50 meters, stock open sights, and my eyes are not what they once were.

PS, this K31 seems to like 39grn of IMR 4064. And its much easier to shoot than full hot loads.
