browning 1911-22 is pretty darn small..
Although it doesn't have the shortest barrel, the Tokarev TT-33 is pretty damn small. Grip and thickness would be great for carry.
The Boberg is the smallest restricted firearm which I have seen. The one I tried shot well. If size really matters, it would make sense to raise your upper limit.
Interammo has Makarovs as above around $400.00 I think. I have one in 9mm short and it is a nasty little pistol.
Ok, so wondering what the smallest (most compact) legal (restricted not 12.x) pistol available in Canada with the following criteria.
Under $1000
Semi auto (not a derringer)
Readily available ammo (9mm, 22, etc)
Reliable
Available accessories.
My first thought was the S&W MP-9 with the smallest back strap. Other suggestions please!
How is the accuracy?
first ones that came to mind are the Browning 1911-22 and the Walther P22 both seem like toys when I hold them, they're just so small.
I think you are making yourself a CSEC target with your question, and you can probably expect a quad-copter to begin following you.
I know its over your budget but I'd go Boberg or HK P7' I sold my last P7 for $1100 a year ago.
On the cheap side I picked up this FEG PA-63 in .380acp ( Walther PP Clone ) $420 at a gun show last weekend. It's been rebarelled to restricted and it's pretty darn small, it fits in the pocket of my jeans no problem. This would be hard to find in restricted though.

Someone suggested a FMK, I have one arriving today or tomorrow and will have to compare its size to other Handguns I have. They are pretty cheap as I picked mine up with only 20 shots down the pipe for $360 shipped off the EE.
Let me know what you think, that one is pretty high on the list for me.

Any word on the FMK and how it compares?
