Before I put down cash on this, what are the odds that 9mm pcc’s are going to become prohibited in the future? I know no one has a crystal ball, but given its manufacturer and M&P pistol grip, is it likely to be branded under the scary gun label? I liked the Beretta Storm and I’m not really sure why it’s no go, but this one is (unless it was barrel length?).

Who cares
If it comes to that it will be mass non compliance and most will ignore the laws.
There are no records that you have it, buy it now and have some fun!!!
A birdie tells me after 500 rounds flawless operation and pretty darn accurate.
Or so I hear.
YMMV

If you choose to attempt to quantify a prospective "purchase" of an FPC around the possibility that it may be added to the prohibited list in the future, then this gun, or any similar gun is not for you.
Because...... yes. It's entirely possible that any semi pistol cal-carbine may be designated as prohibited, in the Liberal future.

Now, put on your "SHTF" glasses, and what do you see?

I see a gun that holds more "real value" than it ever had before, regardless of its new designation.

Over 2000 rounds through mine, no issues. And it's easy to clean and maintain. Only thing you're going to need in a Maglula, those magazines are rough to get 10 rounds in.

Newsflash: Leftist, lieberal antis want to ban ALL guns and they will never stop. They cannot be reasoned with and they aren't interested in "reasonable" restrictions. The ultimate goal is a gun free society.

THIS!

Good points. I’m just concerned about the prospects of a $1k boat anchor.

Then possibly gun ownership is not for you?

If you want it , get it now , and enjoy it. Trudeau is gone in a couple of years anyway , so wo cares what Trudeau wants , or does . If possible , buy used , and avoid the Dealer back door registry that Trudeau imposed .

Just picked one up last week, I was so suprised at how short and light it was compare to all other pcc's. I've yet to shoot it, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Honestly, seeing how many of these "should I get it...what if it gets banned?" types of posts is disconcerting. This is exactly what the government hope to achieve in their fear-mongering tactics.

Presuming the best or the worst of a situation and trying to project the future is always an exercise in futility. There are those who regretted not buying what they had an opportunity to buy before something in the past gone banned. But conversely there are also those who also presume that things are "safe" and they have all the time in the world. That doesn't just go for firearms, but for many life decisions.

There is a always a certain degree of risk in life.

I remember after the OIC, so many naysayers told me NOT to buy the X95, as "it was next". Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. I got one anyway and I will tell you this - if I had listened heeded the advice of the negative nancys out there, I would have robbed myself of several years of enjoyable ownership and use of that gun. And many others that were in the same boat.

When those G4/G46 amendments were in play, lots of people started warning about buying anything semi auto. Some just stopped buying. And then the amendments disappeared. Can it all come back in the FAC? Maybe, maybe not, but there are nice guys still available, non restricted, and there is never a better time than now to get something new and fun. Tomorrow is never promised for any of us, so the old adage of consider every day a blessing, applies...

Now for the FPC. I will say this. I was heavily reluctant to get one. I typically am not one to buy "bleeding edge" first generation models of anything. Rather wait until all the kinks are worked out. But what I can say is that I am so glad I took a chance on this, because it is a phenomenal carbine. Now this is coming from a guy who had a .40S&W Sub2000 for years and could just not find enough reasons to really like it wholeheartedly - maybe I nitpicked too much at it, but I think most of my nitpicks were warranted given how many others have remarked about the same thing. The FPC in my opinion, is the antithesis of the Sub2000 and everything that the Sub2000 should have been. The thing is accurate out of the box, and while fairly early, I haven't experienced and F2F or F2E in the first two hundred rounds, using everything from different grains of FMJ, down to the most difficult hollowpoints that seem to cause problems in my other carbines. It just runs the ammo no problem. The only thing I have noticed and maybe it's my ear pro going is that I have noticed a discernable "twang" noise when shooting the thing...it seems to be coming from the buttstock/storage area.

The only downside I can see so far is that while it came with 3 magazines, I haven't been able to find any extras of the OEM anywhere...except for the occasional sightings of Promag compatibles.

Actually more than one downside - the bolt catch/release mechanism is kind of klunky and obtuse. I don't get it and now don't even bother - with release it with that button/lever thing. I just use the CH. Also, I wish the mag release was on the right side and that the crossbolt safety was not so far forward since guys like me with small hands have to reach a bit more to get at it.

Suggestion I have for all new owners if you find the charging handle really stiff and heavy is to lube the area up. I am still not certain whether I am supposed to unfold it without pulling back on the CH, or whether that will wear down that notch, but now that I have lubed the CH a bit, it seems to slid back better with one hand.

Haha, I hear ya. Even with a Uplula, I thought I got some defective mags since with my frail old man strength, I was able to only get in 9 rounds...but it was on all three mags so pretty sure it was me. It was only when I had a buddy at my club look at it that he said yeah the mag is really stiff - you have to give it a good press down on the Uplula to get that 10th round in. I guess I am so used to the looseness of the Glock mags to easily to put in 10 rounds that I didn't think other mags may be more stiff.
