Smith and Wesson M&P 15/22

And if you think the 522 has only 2 options u sir have no idea what the rcmps rule book entails, ill give you. A hint, its like the kuran or the bible or the torah, its up to individual interpretation, were all up the s**t creek without a paddle...

If they call the 522 restricted I will personally put 1000$ towards a legal challenge. It won't be restricted they will either call it unrestricted or prohibited.

I phone once a week to CFC. I have contacted my Local MP - Gary Lunn. They have phoned back east, and were told, its a process, should take 6-9 months standard and could go longer with complications. But I haven't been able to get a localized contact with the armor of the actual firearm.

I want one answer - buy a .22 drop in for my AR-15 for the summer, or will the S&W MP 15-22 be out? Because lets face it...they are pissing in the wind.

Facts: Can not go full auto or be converted. Can not take the lower and fit it to an AR15 upper.

This will be drawn out and restricted at VERY BEST. The last thing the CFC wants is Cheap, tactical training tools, to get people into firearms. They look cool, shoot well, and are very good training tools. The point of the our laws are not to stop us from using firearms, but make it so difficult we don't care enough to own one.

Please contact your local MP - be respectful.
Please contact the CFC - be nice, they are just doing their job.

Remember who pays the CFC and RCMP's wages...

This is complete and total BS.

They get it, they look at it, they classify it. A day max. The only reason why they would delay the matter is because (a) they know they have to class it non-restricted and they're just trying to delay it to keep it out. (b) they are using that time to study the rifle so intensely so that they can come up with a way to make it fail the hasselwander test.

The entire staff of the lab should be fired.

Then what exactly can be done about the situation? Who can we contact to apply the right amount of political heat to get the lab to render a decision?

Well, the submitter can force the issue by filing a writ of mandamus.

The other option is to lean on Vic Toews to fire the lab personnel. I like the latter course.

Those FRT guys are a devious bunch.

Another week of indecision is essentially another week of prohibition.

And these weeks are adding up to months.

This Fabian strategy they have come up with to #### us will not be limited to the MP1522

I bet it's going to be the new way that they deal with anything else that they find objectionable.

Then the "submitter" must be a coward since no one in their right mind would put up with this bulls**t for as long as they have. If you're conducting business on the whimsical nature of the RCMP then you're in the wrong business.

What the RCMP is doing could be considered a restriction to free trade and commerce, which I believe is against the law. Correct, Mr. Morrison? ;)

As much as I would like to agree with the above post. If you really think about it, if you were a firearms business would you rock the boat with the people who approve your guns over a single issue?

This fight is on our hands not the distributor, I like the buzz that I'm seeing here, but one off emails and calls won't do it we have to organize a bit better and do things right.

How about we all call with the same script on the same day, then the next day we follow up with some emails.. Power in numbers guys.

You rely on them for approval, you probably have to be patient.

Its certainly not illegal for the RCMP to restrict the trade in firearms in order to carry out their legislated mandate under the Firearms act of classifying firearms.

Lol sorry guys I couldn't resist. Just hilarious soo many people are holding their breath on this one. Just go buy the ruger or remington and have fun. Its a 22 for god sakes. I was interested but after waiting 3 months I gave up and bought the 597 but I got bored of 22 soo fast. I had to buy a 9mm ar. At least there is some flash and bang.
