Smith and Wesson M&P 15/22

Thank our laws... its looks! I just cant compel myself to buy a .22 and have it only shot at the range. . Dont get me wrong, I love rimfires but I would not buy a rimfire and only be limited to shooting it at the range

My thoughts exactly.

I just looked at this gun VS the "AR15" style Ruger 10/22 and Remington's similar version, and I liked the SW one the most.....but restricted??? no way, not for a .22 cal.

Cool down gents, it still has not been classified. Lets not throw the baby out with the bath water!

I finally broke down and just bought a S&W M&P 15 (.223), I will wait to see if I buy a .22 conversion for my AR or a S&W 15/22..... I am sure you can see my reasoning!

Cheers!

we are in Canada, we know what the outcome will be. Ill bet anyone otherwise.
Dont get your hopes up, thats all......

Optomism is still free though. Also those that wish something that could be done should be donating to the henderson fund to try to ensure the classification process gets the light shed on it that is 25 years overdue. These classification issues date back to the armi yager AP74 and AP80's.

News update...

My friend has imported two rifles but we're waiting just like you guys.

Here's his exact words as of yesterday...

"I called the Gun Registry again today for an update and have the following news. They have imported a gun for technical testing. Their Armourer whom I talked to has told me that it has been tested to see if it can be converted to automatic, it cannot, and can it be converted to centre fire, it cannot. He also has told me that they have decided because of it’s looks that it will be a restricted weapon. No problem for us. He also offered the comments that it is a very nice quality gun at a very reasonable price and should be lots of fun and a good seller. He wants one also. The registry has started an internal website so that when you call in to register weapons they will be able to bring it up, but it is not yet completed and active, but should be sooner rather than later as they now have the data and decisions they need. The Armourer actually offered to call me back when the site is active, soon we can register asap."

I went over a few weeks ago and had a look. I'm in love. Can't wait to bring her home

Its no problem that it is going to be restricted on looks and not on fact or function?? With an attitude like that then it is one step forward for henderson and 4 steps back for who cares attitudes. Not a slam on you but do you not find it troubling that they admitted it is a looks issue?? COME ON PEOPLE!!!!!!!

I would like to see one of these "techs" under oath and before the courts to answer some very basic questions on what the evaluation criteria is that they go by during the classification procedures.

If "looks" play any real part in it, then I think any judge with a true conscious would over rule the decision.

Your know what, no, this #### has got to stop! Where da #### do they get off making up their own rules! I say we put a stop to this ####.

I say everyone who's serious about this rifle call in and compain before they make this official! Someone post a number with an extention, let's call in the more the merrier and let them explain it to each of us why they do what they do!

This just pisses me off, it should piss the rest of you off too! I for one am done taking this ####!

Good luck finding one of those.

Henderson is over and we are awaiting the final decision but it is looking very positive for our side!!!!

Don't worry by the time the spin doctors are threw with it it will be very bad for us, but we will be so spun around that we will actually think that it is good.
