Is there any reason the smith and wesson model 22 is not carried by a lot of the canadian online dealers. I searched this website for any talk of it and came up with nothing. How does it compare to the mosquito or P22?

I'm going to tell you my personal experience with my S&W 22A.
It shot bad right out of the box, FTF, FTE's continually with any ammo....
Sent for repair, took 4mos, no difference, sent again, took 4-5mos, and now it's pretty good, apparantly it was a bur in the slide i think....
Now it's a pretty good shooter, pretty accurate, like it in my hand....
I sold it only cause with all the hassles i went through, i bought a P22 in the meantime, and the kids like it better......
I saw some in the cabinet at Wild West in edmonton, and i know P&D stocks them as well....
I really liked how it looked with a red dot on the built in top rail.....

Bringing this back up to the top, as I've notice Frontier has a deal going on with a camo version.... mmmmmmm camo! :D
I've never seen one of these. let alone handle/shoot one.
Anyone else with experience with this gun?
I need another .22 like I need another hole in the head... but I'm sure y'all know what it's like ;).
Any more or new input on this one?!?!

have owned one since last summer, put over 2000rds through it with hardly any problems whatsoever...... it only likes Federal HP's from Cdn Tire but with those I never get any FTE or jams....... thats with the big box of 525's too........ just keep it clean and have fun!!

accurate as heck to even past 50yards.....

hope this helps.......

:)

I love my .22 A. Everyone has called them junk, but I have big hands and figured Id give it a try. Had some duds and such with the .22 ammo but it will eat anything I put in it.

Didnt go with the Ruger because it is a pain in the ass to take apart and clean, and didnt go with the Walther P22 because Ive seen to many of them break. I guess thats what you get with a gun that is mostly (bad) plastic.

Ruger will let you put a lifetime of rounds through it. Probably the best bet for your money. Good factory sights and reliable as hell.

Re: 22A

I like the 22A. Had considered the Ruger but don't like the look of it.
Accurate, looks and feels nice and the price is right.
It's a keeper, as far as I'm concerned.
