Well with the whole c71 thing I figured I might as well get a back up AR...for whatever good it would do lol. Figured at least I'd have all the spare parts.

Any how I get it in the mail yesterday and the upper / lower fit is brutal! It's not only very loose but there is also a huge gap at the back and I can easily see the buffer as well as the bolt when I rack the handle.

I have emailed where I purchased it from regarding returning it. I'll be calling Monday if I don't hear back from them.

I'm interested in comments, has anyone ever seen am AR upper/lower fit this poorly before? Seems like this one was slapped together - lots of extra grease everywhere as well as metallic shavings all around the sight block and front retainer....oh and my colt upper fit on it right.

I just checked mine (S&W) and the fit is tight, hardly any play or gap... Your fit between the upper and lower is noticeably less tight than on mine. I would definitively follow up with the store.

Have M&P15 myself and it's tight and shoots very accurate. From my research S&W produces great quality firearms, so this is unusual from what i know. get it replaced for sure. keep us posted.

I checked the one I bought and it has no gap there at all. Still waiting on it though, so there's a gap between it and me.

Unfortunately the vendor has not answered my email. I called 2x yesterday as well and their voicemail mailbox was full. I will give it some time before mentioning the vendor on here.

Wow, that's an unacceptable gap in my books. I don't think I've seen any ARs with a gap that large. Send it back!

Update: it is 100% an issue with the upper. Went to a friend's last night and his is not like this. Put the upper on his mp sport 2 lower and same issue with large gap in the rear.

I got ahold of the store via telephone today, they promised to look at the pics I sent in and get back to me.
