Andy's data seems to be much more realistic re. load vs. velocity. I'm a little on the conservative side when it comes to this stuff, so I would not use Bullseye simply because it is very fast and has a higher peak pressure than black powder. IMR 4227 would give a lower peak pressure than black powder for the same velocity. Andy's 4227 load seems to be fairly low pressure but because I tend to be a bit cautious, I would reduce the 4227 load that Andy posted. 850 fps is pretty fast for the 41 Colt. I'd feel better with something around 800 fps or even 780 fps. You may be able to even use IMR 4198 which is a bit slower, and may give a capacity load for something around 780 fps. In the meantime, something seems to be dreadfully wrong with your chrono. How far away from your chrono are you when you take a reading?
