Smokin deals on Grand Power 9mm's/.22's and range reports

thanks for the response. it's good to have a rep for the company answer questions on here.

I keep seeing that one Grand Power all over the internet where the barrel failed because of reloads....that and the barrel recall kind of put me off about the gun but I rather have a company do a recall than try hide a problem

it's cheaper to buy a Grand Power than a Norinco right now

Ah yes, our friend from the Czech Republic. That's a separate issue.

The guy's gun blew up on sketchy reloaded ammo. Not really our problem, but we still offered to replace the guys gun with our apologies...

Instead, he demanded an upgrade from a K100 to an X-Calibur, plus 10,000 rounds of ammo, otherwise he was going to try and trash our reputation....

The boss's decision was simple. He could take the replacement as offered, or pound sand.

When our hero posted his toxic tale across the interwebs, we just released the entire correspondence with him and let the casual reader form him own opinion....

I did read what happened in another forum (while doing my home work about the pistol) and I'm amazed on how people can be true slime-bags! So he reload his own ammo, over charge the powder, blow the barrel, send an e-mail to Grand Power, they offered him a new gun, no question asked, he is not happy with that and ask for a different pistol that cost 2x of his own and crap load of ammo!!! Years ago Costco used to take back electronics return, no questions asked, when people abused the policy (buying a laptop, and when a newer model arrive they return the old one and get the new one for almost free) Costco ended up with 60 days electronic return policy!!! hopefully people will not abuse Grand Power return policies as this guy tried to.

This is a smokin' deal...I paid considerably more last year. Wow!

I know, I paid 399 for my K100 Mk7 when it was on sale in June and thought that was a great deal.

FWIW I really like the gun so far. Interestingly, most of the people I've let shoot it have a. Never heard of them and b. been very complimentary about the gun (even more so when they hear the price). Maybe the new distributer will be able to do something about "a"

When you stop and think about it $329 for the K100 Mk12 is like Norinco territory

Its a ridiculous price. I'm kind of laughing, thinking that the new distributor is likely going to make more profit in selling accessories and upgrade parts to the buyers of these fire sale guns than Dlask did at retail.

Here's a question Canuck (and I know you are obviously a little biased) but where would you place these guns in terms of quality/performance) Ruger SR? S&W M&P? Glock? I shot a guys Springfield XD at the range the other day and thought my K100 was easily as good.....handled a Ruger SR and thought the fit andd finish on the Grand Power was better. I guess I'm asked who you see as the competition?

Either way, in an industry where 10% off on a gun is considered a sale it makes these prices crazy good!

I'd annoy a lot of people by honestly answering this question.
My preferred answer is to suggest you try one back to back with a gun you love, and see if the romance is dead afterwords.

Basic coming my way....damn you Dlask! lol
Just when I was trying to thin the heard....sold 2 guns last month, and have bought 3 since.

Your resolve lasted all of 12 hours? ;)

I'm going to go stare at the Colt Series 70 remake I'm saving for, repeating to myself the virtue of patience lol

Damn'd all of my transport cases are full to the gills. 4 - 4 X pistol cases and 1 - 2 X pistol case.

On the other hand what do I need another 22 or 9mm for? I don't seem to find the time to shoot the ones I already have:-(

I'm to the point of "today is a revolver" range session, "today is an auto" range session, "today is a 22" range session, "today is a......

I think I may have tooo many!

M

I wish I had your problem lol.

I have a XTrim and a K100 Mk7. Don't see much difference in the results of the two. Tempted to buy a Mk 12 for $329.

I shot the K100 in a match today, and found out about a quirk of the pistol, the hard way. If you insert a loaded mag, with the slide closed, the mag does not click into place. tested tonight and found the same thing in the Xtrim. You have to slap the mag home quite smartly to get it to latch into place. I had the mag fall out during a match.

My pistol scores at 25 yards were the highest I have ever had. Good sights and trigger.

I've noticed that about getting the mag to seat with the slide closed as well. The other thing I've found is that when you slap the mag home smartly when the slide is locked open it will usually cause the slide to slam shut.

Might just need to trim the bottom of the follower a bit. Common issue with M&P mags as well....they are pinned at 10 exactly, needs a little more room for compression in a closed slide.

The molds for the Mk7 grips could throw out grips that were slightly long. During assembly, they should have been checked and sanded at the base so that a loaded magazine will seat with normal pressure. If it's too tight, you can lightly sand the opening. The molds for the Mk12 grips addressed this.

The Grand Power guns are designed to autoforward if you slap the magazine in with force.
