that makes a lot more sense to me since I don't like the thin manual safety. I guess I wouldn't mind it as much if it had a more positive "on" "off" feel that clicks into place like a 1911

also the fact that you have to decock the hammer manually anyways so the safety doesn't act as a decocker as in most other DA/SA pistols

still, I'd rather have a shiity safety than no safety.....I think
 
Needs a decocker....safeties are for single action only pistols. Pointless to have a safety on a TDA gun. It NEEDS to be decocked for carry or competition.... Hopefully the newest distributor will have the parts available so we can swap

We will be stocking the full line of GP pistols., I have an STI marked one as well as k100, the new models get better every year.

I agree.....I think this is the biggest con of the Grand Power is manually decocking the hammer. the double action pull is good enough to be a DAO pistol like a Glock and just eliminate the safety altogether.

If you had to choose between a Sig Sauer or a Grand Power equally priced I think most people would choose the Sig Sauer because it has a decocker. there's no chance of accidentally dropping the hammer on a live round.

I'm not really a DA/SA fan, but the Grand Power has a great trigger in both modes
 
Not sure about the other GP models, but my X-Calibur came with the wide safeties installed and the thin safeties in the case. Was a 2 min job to swap them out (after Canuck223 told me how lol). I think you can buy these thin safeties from GP as well.

which feels better? the wide safeties or the thin ones? can you use a thin one on the right side and a thick one on the left side?
 
I prefer the thin safeties. I grip with my right thumb high and the wide safety was just a bit awkward to shift my thumb around during mag changes. I was thinking about sanding down the rear of the wide safety, but the thin safety is actually pretty easy to flick on/off. You can mix and match installing the thin and wide safeties.

hundreds if not thousands of people in Canada compete with a CZ shadow which has manual safeties and no decocked but is still shot DA first shot. Its not an issue, and a decocker adds extra bits that can screw with how good of a trigger your gun has. If the plugs were IPSC legal I'd be all over it, but the stock thin safeties are really thin so that's good enough.

We do have a decocker system available. Trigger Wholesale brought in K100's and X-Caliburs with the decocker system.
It's a factory installed option only.

Our decocker system is up for on safe, neutral for classic DA/SA, and down to decock. If the decock level is left in the down position, it's now a DAO.

The feel is a personal choice, and when you buy the X-Calibur you get the wide safety levers installed, but the thin levers in the box as well. You can mix and match to suit your hand size and shooting style.

The DAO plug is an option and was used by a number of people who wanted a slick sided gun for a very high grip. However for IPSC Production Vinnie says even though you never use the safety, it has to have one......

Sounds a lot like a Glock (minus the great trigger) and they are proud to claim they have manufacturing costs down to less then $100 per unit lol
 
Glock doesn't have the steel chassis, but I bet labour losts less in Slovakia than in Austria.

I have a Glock and cant wait till the K100 gets here so I can compare the two :)

ps: how fast is DLASK at starting tranafers, shipping orders? never bough a gun from them and ordered online.

I found Dlask pretty good when I bought from them last June. Although, given the sale, I expect they will be pretty busy getting transfers done and product shipped.

so would most pistols shipped to stores have this or would it be more common for them to order it in ?? Ie would love to see this system in person. Actuality happy to see these guns will be more widely available and hoping to see them in person soon.

The standard is still the traditional DA/SA system.

Trigger Wholesale brought in a number of the K100's and X-Caliburs with the optional decocker system.
Your local store can order those guns with either.

If there is enough demand, the decocker can be installed on most of the product line.
I've suggested that a percentage of the new models coming on the next order come with this option.
 
So seeing as there's going to be a huge influx of these hitting the masses, whats the best holster option for these? Saw a previous post stating the Fobus HK2 and SP11 will work. I haven't really be able to find much online, is there anything better?

If you have the gun in hand, ask guys on the range with holsters to see if the GP fits. A holster that fits a Springfield XD might fit.
