Just order the new Kibler Fowler. You won’t be disappointed. Or if your handy buy the parts from Track Of The Wolf and build your own.

Im really interested in getting a smooth bore, but cannot shell out the cash for brand new/already built one.

Doesnt matter, those Traditions designs quickly get you wishing youd just bought a quality piece from the start. I bought my Kentucky rifle for only 450 years back, i see there in the 800s now at Cabelas... an absolutely rediculous price for how mediocre they are.Does anyone else come close to the affordability of the Traditions DIY kit that Cabelas sells?
For $405, on their clearances, you can buy an unfinished factory-second East India Company pattern Brown Bess. The bores are undersized and therefore rejected. Not a complete firearm, just all the parts for one and the buyer drills the flash hole.Loyalist Arms..
Just sent an e-mail last night regarding these Brown Bess muskets with the smaller bore (hell, for $405 I figured why not?), but they're all gone. For $405, on their clearances, you can buy an unfinished factory-second East India Company pattern Brown Bess. You would be doing very well indeed to get a good quality lock and barrel for $500.00 USD. On top of the roughly 40% exchange rate, there is shipping and Cdn. taxes. The good quality kits are definitely worth the money. Nowadays if you want to build a gun, you can expect to pay $500+ USD for just a high quality barrel and lock.
